I was bored this morning so I thought I'd throw this up. I tried to make it a bit interesting but there's still things I'm not too happy with, like not being able to find a place for Wilson and some others but oh well. I'm just putting it out there for those who are interested.

3 Gold Coast – Sam Day
4 West Coast – Shaun Atley
5 Gold Coast – Andrew Gaff
6 Port – Daniel Gorridge
7 Gold Coast – Jack Darling
8 Brisbane – Josh Caddy
9 Gold Coast – Scott Lycett
10 Richmond – Keiran Harper
11 Gold Coast – Brodie Smith
12 Essendon– Luke Parker
13 Gold Coast – Matthew Watson
14 Adelaide – Jared Polec
15 Gold Coast – Josh Green
16 Melbourne – Lucas Cook
17 North – Ben Jacobs
18 Sydney – Patrick McCarhty
19 Carlton – Mitch Hallahan
20 Hawthorn - Jayden Pitt
21 Fremantle – Dyson Heppell
22 West Bulldogs – Mitch Wallis (F/S)
23 St Kilda – Warrick Andreoli
24 Geelong - Billy Smedts
25 Collingwood – Tom Lynch

Opinions welcome.

I do have have reasoning behind each pick (even if it is weak) so if your interested feel free to ask.

Cheers

Umm why have you got Pick 10-Richmond where 15th and cant see us moving higher anytime soon.

That is all but i applaud the effort as i have paid no attention to the draft this year just following the Mighty Stingrays in TAC cup.

Would like your thoughts on a few of their players who iv liked so far.

Hallahan
Parker
Allen

Yeah it's just a rough calculation there's not much between us and brissy (%) and Port (1 win) I think we're a chance tomorrow and we also play Port in round 22.

It was actually easier for me to pick for us if our pick is further down the order so I went with it.

I really like both Hallahan and Parker. Hallahan has great leadership and courage but he a tendency to dob it long a bit to often for mine. Pace is his biggest enemy but he is such a consistent player and you know he's going to to leave it all out there.

Parker is a neater by foot and is more effective when he goes forward I think. I've seen him do some jaw dropping stuff and he's very good over head for a midfielder.

Allen is great little player. He's usually clean by hand and foot but I think his height may hold him back when it comes to draft day. Definitely deserves to be on a AFL list but I think he's go as a rookie.

Treloar is my favourite at the Rays. It's a pity he's not available this year, he would of been perfect for the Tigers.

Yeah really like Treloar too. Went to school with a few of these boys all great guys. Allen's my fav. Just very Silky and clean also kicks a nice goal but agree needs some muscle. Definate Rookie spot for me.

Tom Lynch as in the current red head at St.Kilda Tom Lynch?

Nope. There's another one who plays for the Dandy Stingrays both are KPPs but only one is ranga. There will also be another Aaron Black drafted this year.

Melbourne will most likely take a KPF with their first pick.
Can you tell me more about Lucas Cook?

I thought that as well so I gave you Lucas Cook who is a KPF. He can take a grab and can also work his way through traffic with clean hands. His work on lead is his best but he can also take a pack mark. He regularly kicks bags at TAC and is a great prospect.

Needs to work on his intensity as he tends to drift in and out but I think that will come with confidence and a stronger body.

His highlight of the champs was 5 goals in the opening game against Vic Metro and being named the U18 All Australian CHF.

I actually had you taking Stevan May but with GC signing him up yesterday it wasn't an option. If darling was available I'd imagine you'd take him but that's highly unlikely.

Love you have Pies Winning The Flag:thumbsu: and would love the Pick of Tom Lynch.

Why do you think the Pies will take Tom Lynch?

I think you have a surplus of good mids mid who have not or are not playing like J.Thomas, Rounds and Blight and a first round KPF who would have time to develop would be better suited at this point in time. He is still quite raw with loads of potential.

When he moves up the ground he doesn't lose himself either with his neat skills he can move the ball forward with other midfielders very effectively. Great hands below his knees and very light on his feet for a big guy. Moves very well. Also I think you guys deserve better than what Cloke is producing.

Yeah that was one of the things I wasn't happy with. I thought about Solly and Fitzgerald but I think both of those are solid 2nd rounders,

I couldn't see Heppell not going in the first round so I put him there to accommodate Subans inevitable move to the midfield full time and they'll get another quality medium defender and long kick out of defense to replace him.

Yeah I have to admit I had to be convinced by others before I saw what they see in him, he has had bad luck with his hip this year which caused him to have a slow start to the season which has him down the ranks. When he's got more run in his legs he should shine again this TAC finals series like he did in the national champs

I believe a midfield role similar to Didak is where he'll end up in his AFL career once he builds up his tank. Definitely a top 10 talent in my book.

I agree we do need Some Young KPF coming up and late in the Draft we have to take a Raw kid with Big Upside and Tom Lynch does fit the Bill.

Cloke has been Good just wish he Kick Straight

You know our list pretty well, kudos.

You're welcome.

Pretty rare to see a supporter underselling their own team.

Wouldnt Freos first priority be to pick up a second ruckman or a key backmen.

We have some promising key backs in Silvagni and Sibosado.

Midfield depth has been tested with Barlow out so there is a need there. The key forward stocks aren't that good either. The ruckman is probably a reasonable need as well, so the best out of any of those positions that is at our pick.

I am on the Harper bandwagon as well. Even if we end up with Pick 6 or 8, I would be happy to pick him up.. Only hard point would be if Atley is still around at our pick as I rate him too.
As for Gaff and Parker...meh! Haven't been too impressed with their disposal/decision making and in Gaff's case "hurt factor!"
Give me Atley/Harper and im happy :)
Leave it to the recruiters to pluck a couple of gems with 2nd/3rd round picks (aka Nason, Astbury etc) and i'll be stoked..

McCarthy is still quite raw and moves very well for his height. All australian CHB, He offers just as much in defense as he does moving the ball forward with strong hands in the contest and good skills by foot. Has a hunger for the contest and is aggressive in his attack at the ball. Is apparently quite a leader as well with a good football brain that can take charge and organise the back six. Is a good height at 194cm and I rate the development team at sydney to turn him into and elite talent.

Hallahan I thought would be a predictable more of the same pick for Sydney. Your strongest point is your inside game and picking Hallahan would be just bringing in more of the same.

I felt Pitt wouldn't be a good pick either because Sydney used its two first round picks on pacey wingman/half forwards last year.

This draft has very good tall talent compared to others in the past.
Why not take advantage of it?

That's a great post mate. Two names I would like to throw in are Keiren Butcher who was the WA 18's skipper. He is a big bodied midfielder who would be similar to Rich in regards to playing senior footy in round 1, 2011. What are your thoughts on him.
Also a mature age guy named Tom Clarke who is also at Peel Thunder. He is 193cms and 95kgs, 21 years old and is a solid tall defender. Kept Callum Wilson (WCE listed) and two other former AFL players to one goal this season. Probably a second round pick but would be a massive waste if he got missed. Has had some monster efforts in defence in a team that gets pumped most weeks.
Have you heard of or seen him in action, what are the thoughts out there??

Looks like Heath Grundy v2.0, but that could just be me.

Sydney's biggest problem is its lack of pace as evidenced when playing top, young or generally fast running sides (Melbourne, Geelong, WB, Freo). While its true that we spent our two main picks on adding more pace last year, I don't believe it combats the problem completely and we should add more pace with someone like Pitt.

If you're going to go tall we need a specialist KPF (not a swinger) that can replace Bradshaw or get Goodes out of CHF
