Posted about him a bit in the 2012 albums thread.

Guy needs his own space though. He has been involved in 3 albums this year! 2 of which are excellent. The new LP 'Twins' under ty segall and the album with white fence called 'Hair' Not a huge fan of the Ty segall Bands Slaughterhouse..but it does contain some solid nuggets.

From Twins

He is only 25.. and before that he has released 4 other albums under his name. This guy pumps them out and they keep getting better! One of the truly inspiring young rock musicians out there. Get on it!

From Hair

New album 'sleeper' is available to stream.
Have not heard it yet but its apparently an all mellow acoustic affair.

one of the best songwriters going around, get on it:thumbsu:

WOO! Ty Segall has written some of the best rock'n'roll in the past 5 years, yet he is still largely unknown. It's a damn shame. I got his album Melted a few years back when I was living in London. I was drawn into it by the cover art and I got a sample listen and it only took half of the first track for me to realise this was gonna be a killer album that I'd listen to over and over and over. This is that opening track, Finger:

A couple of years later he did a short promo tour and I saw him play at Goodgod up here in Sydney and it was packed to the rafters (which was surprising to me). It was a wild show, super noisy and people flying everywhere and it was lots and lots of fun. He was interviewed on FBi and was really witty and played a really great, diverse set of his favourite tracks as well.

Why isn't he massive in Australia? It seems like the kind of stuff people here would love!

I was thinking I might actually start a thread on the Music board where everybody champions 3 acts that they feel are criminally under-rated. Now I know that Ty Segall has his own thread, I might need to put someone else in there instead.

Saw him last night and it was two dozen Scuzzed about songs that stretched between 90 second thrashy yelling and 5 minutes mudhoneyesque jams. One of those gigs that puts your faith back in humanity again. A stage invader was allowed to play a song with the band and Ty did a song in the crowd with guitar and mike crowd surfing with him too.

The drummer from the vivian girls was part of his band too.

I'd forgotten about this tour because I wasn't sure whether I'd be in the country when tickets first went on sale. But I am and there are still tickets left to the second Sydney show - woohoo!
