From those 5 Under 16 squads I count 94 born in the first half of the year (Jan - June) and only 51 born in the second half of the year (July - Dec)
Obviously an advantage being a few months older. Wonder if the same applies at under 18 level?

I would assume the gaps closes as the kids get older. There can be a huge difference (physical and mental) between Jan/Feb '09 born and Nov/Dec '09 born

Can you explain what level he is playing? Is this club football? Or Representative? Is the overall competition strong?
For reference, most of the Vic kids aren’t playing club games this year - school 1st XVIII, state and representative duties take precedence

SANFL u16's and that takes precedence. They have a full league with finals far superior to Coates u16's
