For all the pomp and spectacle, give me a U2 record to listen to over a 55,000 stadium extravaganza anyday.
I can't see U2 downgrading completely from the standard of shows they have set since the late 80's, much like the Stones, everything is huge, record breaking and extravagant.
I'm glad I can still see classic artists such as Tom Waits, Neil Young and Elvis Costello in smaller venues without the rock and roll supershow and spectacle that is inevitably U2, Bon Jovi, AC/DC, and the like.
Will rock tours of this magnitude die when the likes of the above call it a day?
Are there any 20 something bands who could build to this level?
