Okay so the Umpire Decision Review System is now mandatory but optional.
The main issue I have with it is I want Hot Spot to be there (and applied correctly- i.e. if there is no mark you are not out unlike the last West Indian wicket last summer).

The article above says HotSpot is unlikey for the World Cup and is a possibility for finals. I was astounded to read it costs between $6000 and $10000 a day to use. I can see why boards are reluctant to use it. If we go with $50 000 per test and you play 10 tests a year thats half a million- add introduction into ODI's then it could be $1m from the bottom line. Whilst richer boards can afford it I doubt they will if no one else is forced to do it.
The ICC should just pay for the entire thing or alternatively in the next broadcast agreement make it mandaotory in the bidding proccess. Right now channel nine pays for it in Australia- force all broadcasters to have this technology and that is one way we can implement it.
How do we best get everyone to use it?
