Well every year we say goodbye to at least two umpires this year there were 2 fields, 2 Goals ( not confirmed ) and 2 boundarys

Field
16 Matthew Head- He was alright however his fitness let him down and only umpired 7 games this year
23 Martin Ellis- Good career and loved his voice LOL

Goal
Mark Harrisan- umpired many Finals and GF's. He was one of my favorite and he was a great goal umpire, hardly made a mistake
Colin Hood- umpired 2000 grand final and many more, great career.

Boundary
Dan O’Donnell- Well done
Matthew Vitiritti- Victoria umpire, done well

I leave you with the job of saying who will take the number 23 and 16 I think it may be Robert Findlay (23) and someone else I actually don't know, but probably someone thats umpiring the VFL GF.

Matthew Vitiritti umpired every round of the home and away season, I am unsure as to why he wasn't on the finals panel. Maybe he has requested not to umpire finals.

I thought Colin Hood would be retiring soon. Apparently couldn't complete the fitness runs in the required time. Well he was born in 1958 or something, what else would you expect? Positioning certainly hasn't been good the last couple of years. He would've know that. Certainly a consistent perfomer for over 20 years, unlucky to umpire just the one grand final in 1994. The same with Harrison, excellent goal umpire, not quite as long a career as Hood, but similar in that he umpired one grand Final in 2002, I think or was it 2003?

Does anyone know all the VFL Grand Final Appointments?

There's been some ordinary AFL umpires over the years, McLaren takes the cake. Aside from obviously being an Essendon supporter, James Hird's $20k was the best spent as it drew more attention to how poor McLaren is as an umpire. Which brings me to this question, how in God's name does that guy get the GF gig??? This is the kind of bloke he is, he gets tattoos on his arse everytime he umpires a Grand Final, i.e. 1999, 2001, 2005, 2007 & 2008, all these years are tattooed on his arse, what a complete knob!!!

I did hear about this. Apparently Gary didn't want to umpire any more.
Sad to see that Kieron was delisted. However, I know why.

I won't post it up here as it stays in house.

What I am not sure about is Hayden Kennedy. I did hear that he was going to retire but I am not sure of this. I heard from ex afl umpire Gavin Dore.
