Am I just being a bit overactive at the end of a long H&A season or was today's game one of the worst umpired matches for the year?

Virtually ruined the game, especially in the first half, with their incessant whistle blowing, many of them for the most minor infractions.

Hope none of them are around for the finals.

God I'm glad someone else felt the same as me out there.

I seriously thought it was one of the most poorly umpired games this year (both ways).

The men in control seemed to just pulled frees from nowhere and stymied the flow of the match (particuarly in the first half).

I give the umprires a big :thumbsd:

I went to the game with a friend who is a Bombers supporter and we both agreed that the umps did a terrible job for the first 3/4. They were ok in the last. But didn't let the game flow with all the whistles. Eagles favoured for the first quarter and then Geelong got most of the favourable calls for the rest of the match.

If anyone wants a good laugh check out the Weagles board. Reading some of their posts there and it was only the umpires that cost them the game today. They are are a bunch of precious pansies. Eagles are the most looked after team in the comp (#1 Free kick for side in the comp by 20 free kicks!) and I am actually happy that for once they are on the wrong end of the decisions.

I think they were inexperienced umpires ( apart from Jeffrey) so I don't expect to see them from now on.

Experienced umpires understand that in those conditions you need to let the play flow a bit more otherwise the game is stopping every 30 seconds.

That's the way I saw it too, I got so sick of the interruptions.

One of the most disgustingly umpired matches I've ever seen. Can't believe ####en moronic sooking WC people on their board claiming we got the best of it and staged for all of them.

Wet weather football means getting low and putting your head over it all day. More so than usual. WC received plenty just like we did. If the umpires are stupid/dumb enough to pay the frees all day it's not our fault. w***ers.

Players had NFI which team was getting the frees at times.Just look at the free to Ablett about 5 minutes into the 3rd qtr.Stokes goaled from it.Ump #10 was signalling it a WCE free, but I think it wasn't him that paid the free.Players ran towards the WCE end and suddenly the ball was given to Ablett, who passed it to Stokes on his own.

Ablett attempted to trick the umpire by facing towards the WC goals and he fell for it... Stokes worked it out and ran forward, so surely it's reasonable to expect that other players can work it out too???

I thought that Ablett was confused as to which end he was going because the ump was saying his free kick but pointing in the wrong direction. Fortunately Stokesy knew where our goals were.

absolutely disgraceful display by the umpires yesterday. Everyone around us, if it was a Geelong or WC free, was at them to just let the game play out. You don't see that much.

So when are ppl just going to accept that they are a part of the game....Umps make mistakes to....

Yep but they're also open to criticism same as the players if they stuff up, and they stuffed up monumentally today.

Don't really think so, watching the replay I think Gaz was just as confused as everybody else and was actually moving to stand the mark and throw the ball back, but there was no Eagles player to throw it to, then the penny finally dropped that it was his free and he kicked it forward.
