Just watched the bulldogs/north game and overall the umpiring was quite good but what frustrated the hell out was every time a player touched the ball when he was on the ground it was holding the ball.
i think it might get to a stage where players will waite for someone else to grab it first so they can put a hand on them and get a free.
I think maybe they dont wanna bounce it cos they are shit at it. but i think that rule has to change.
Others thoughts?

Might have something to do with the game in Darwin and it is cyclone season. The ground may be a little off and not give a predictable bounce. If Carlton FC's major issue for the year is whether the white maggot throws up or bounces the ball, then I will be happy. I would rather concentrate on the ball and what our players are doing with it.
As for holding the ball, they always start red hot on this and decrease the enforecement thru the year
