They were jacking off over how great it was that Richmond had won the second quarter and were still in the game etc etc. So what do we do? Kick two in red time and go in further ahead at HT than QT. Loved teh Ablett "throw" in the 2nd quarter. On the wrong side, completely blinded, ablett handballs it out, umpire figures that can't be true and penalises him.

Why ****ing call a free kick if you can't even see it?

Oh and that punch away from the Richmond player was always a free kick. It's in the rules, they know that. Silly boy. The 2nd Corey 50m was dodgy though.

Today was the first time in ages I sat through a game and watched it properly, missed much of last year. I thought the decisions that were made were often absolutely incomprehensible, for both teams. Made me want to turn off.

My point is I don't want goals from stupid free kicks. The stupid free kicks p$#s me off. I'm not complaining about the number of frees or if Richmond got goals from frees, I'm saying the umpires were sh$t.

Two decisions stood out for me.

Firstly, Steve Johnson disposed of the ball then was tackled by Simmonds, swung around and finally, thrown to the ground.
The umpire was within 3-4 metres yet somehow didn't pay a free kick.

Secondly, Gary Ablett got pinged for throwing the ball despite executing a textbook (and brilliant) handball.
The umpire either didn't see it and simply guessed, or he's imcompetent.
Either way, such simple errors shouldn't be tolerated at the elite level.

BTW Someone told me that Campbell and Healy called the game like men who'd taken the big odds on Richmond.
If that was the case, i'll remember to mute the call when i watch the replay on Foxtel.

I would hardly call those 50 Metre Penalties/Free Kicks 'Soft'.
Take into consideration the many ridiculous, blatantly stupid Free Kicks were paid to Richmond inside our Forward 50 for supposed Tackling Infringements! All we were doing was fairly putting our Bodies on the Line and Head over the Ball; and what, we get Penalised for Soft as Butter Incidents like today.
Nevertheless, we won and a win is a win, regardless of the Margin. But I think it's a bit rich and stupid that Richmond Supporters are coming on here and whingeing about the Umpiring, considering the very Raw Deal we recieved from them today.
But; full Credit must also be humbly shared with Richmond. They (Richmond), played very well and put their Bodies on the Line a lot, especially in the Contests and tight situations, whereas we diDn't very often throughout the last Half. I honestly thought that Richmond were going to win and that they would be deserving Winners at several stages later on in the Match, but I'm a lot happier to see us win, of course!

Guess you missed the mark to Richo in the 2nd term that should've been paid to Bartel since he was the man in front, or the very least a ball up as both had their hands on the ball at the same time. Or the one later in the quarter that was a clear shove in the back, that wasnt paid.

And if they have trial by video for incidents that happen before the opening bounce, than that little f**kwit Jake King should have a nice 2 week holiday for his blatant punch on Ablett. Guess there was justice though. His direct opponent kicked 2 goals and had a hand in the other in the first term, which was pretty much the final margin.
