A DoS attack, or also known as a Denial of Service attack.

It means some little kiddies have gotten control of a few PC's scattered over the Internet and are constantly sending data to the servers of your ISP, and there is so much data coming into the servers that it takes hours for the servers to respond to legitimate requests (email, web sites etc).

Thanks ozzult. You really think people would have better things to do, like hack into financial institutions or defence. ;)

I sent an SMS to a friend of mine about 3:30ish. I expected a reply, got none, and decided to ring her after a lecture. Turns out she was already back home! When i saw her the next day, she said that she only got that SMS around 10:00, about 6 1/2 hours later. Anyone with a similar problem?

The longest delay I have had on an SMS (that I am aware of) is a week. My mother asked me a question which I answered straight away. She got the reply a week later. I know this because she messaged me again asking why it took me so long to reply.
