We lack one at the moment. Nicoski isn't good enough (played out of position IMO) and Wirra has never been too good one on one. Over the years we have always struggled to maintain the small crumbing/marking forwards, surely we have some young players on our list we can develop into this role.

Milne killed Nicoski in this position yesterday. There were times where (surprisingly) Nico looked lost following him around.

Its not like Nico has been smashed by small forwards every game this year. Youd also be taking a bit away from Milne, he is one of the best small forwards going around and only really got on top in that last quarter. I think he had a few kicks from hard up on the boudary as well, generally as a defender if you can force your opponent to take marks there youve done a decent job. Unfortunately these days forwards are better kicking bananas then set shots..

Hmmmm...ok...fair call!

Ash Smith. Super speedy, massive boot. Perfect I think once he gets his fitness up.

J Jones was drafted as 3rd tall I think.

I don't think Smith will ever be used as a lockdown option - his defensive game is weak and playing on a dangerous small forward would likely leave him badly exposed.

Jordan Jones will be the answer. Is about 188-9cm, can play tall, medium, small and has a bit of flair and dash about him. Very good defender.

TBU, I understand Smith was drafted as a Running Half Back much like Hurn without the stupendous thighs. :P

I wonder where S Selwood will end up. Be it back or mid.

Another one besides Hurn. Selwood is a midfielder, Wirra isn't what Im asking. A line can be drawn through the rest of them as well except maybe Waters.

Didn't you ask who on our list could be developed into a small defender?

Why would you draw a line through Davis, Smith, Jones?

Waters would be 50/50. He has had a serious injury and been out for 18 months. Bones in the same camp, was playing very well last year until a serious knee injury which has seen him below par this year.
