Expecting crowd trouble PP? I'd expect there to be a great deal of local Croats out to spit on Australian flags and sing songs about plucking Serbs eyeballs out in war etc etc.

Maybe a few over from Melbourne will help as well?

I know some of the local Adelaide Serbian churches have rocks thrown through their windows every time Melbourne Knights play in Adelaide.

Not many at all for the Sydney United game, no chants or anything. But Knights are always different, I expect a flare or two, but if they want to sit together they will have to get there early, not just all rock at kick off like you could do previously at Hindmarsh. Alot of the Adelaide Croatian community are 100% behind United (so we are told). But I hope they do get good support as it always adds to the atmosphere.
And yes Serbian churches have been attacked when the Knights come over in previous years, but I have a feeling it was done by local Croatians.

The game was played in 34 degrees weather.
Crowd must of been around 12000, very hostile and noisy.
Knights scored early which sent their 30 or so fans wild, and a flare onto the pitch.
Followed by goals to Veart and Terminello. 2-1 at half time

The second half was all United, but I spent most of the time watching the Knights fans in the far corner.
Almost felt sorry for them, with the crap they copped, one wonders why we dont have an away area at soccer venues so we can protect visting fans. They also had all there flags confiscated early in the first half.
Im sure most of the people who went, will go again, was a very entertaining game.
The funniest moment of the night was at the end of the game when the Knights players went over to thank their fans, who had all been kicked out/arrested or were getting taken away at the time.

Kris Trajanovski got the goal for the Knights and the crowd was 13,032, a great attendance. Just wish I could've been there for it. What a surprise about the Knights fans. Should make the trip to the quarry interesting in February! United are now up to 4th, and we still have a game or 2 in hand. It's going remarkably well! C'mon you Reds!

Scarsella again looked useless with his judgment.

Great goal by Terminillo though which started from a Knights corner

Have never seen a team play with so many men behind the ball when they are a goal down.

Great game, great crowd. 13, 032 is a great effort. The Stand was in fine voice tonight.....Best Chant: "Your flag is a Pizza Hut tablecloth!"

Laughed at the treatment of the Knnnigggetts fans, they brought it all on themselves. From the start, they disrespected the National Anthem, then they threw a flare when they scored....and it was handbags at 10 paces after that . No wonder the Home fans and the Rent a Cops enjoyed having them thrown out at various stages.

Will definitely make "Get Mobile III - Mission to Slummers St" very interesting.

Thats why I made the comment "away fans should be protected"
I remember one year Knights fans copping it at Hindmarsh, by everyone from the City fans, police and security, only for us to cop it twice as bad at Somers st later in the year.

Oh I've been there before.....and it's one of the things I am most looking forward too about Mr Lowy's new all singing-all dancing APL....no one (including what few home fans there are) will have to be subjected to the toxic waste dump that is Slummers St.

We are (as a kind of joke) trying to organise toy little red plastic hard hats for Get Mobile III.

The Spirit fans flew down there a few years back. One guy was standing in the queue for a beer when the lady in the tuck shop asked him if he wanted to join the Ustache, the very right-wing Croatian army. Another friendly local decided he'd spit on one of the Spirit fans' Australian flags right in front of the travelling army.

I know Croatia is a very immature country, only existing for 12 years or so. But why do Australian Croatians seem to need to hate Australia for some reason? (Then sneak up into Bay 23 whenever the Socceroos have a big game.)
