Time is coming quickly for year 12's to be entering their preferences for 09. What will you guys be entering? and if you did so in years gone by, what did you enter and how did/do you enjoy uni?

I haven't got much idea, at #1 I'll have Environments at Melbourne, followed by not too sure, probably Commerce/Graphic Design/Business Management or similar, but I'm having a year off next year anyway.

Put them in order of what you WANT to do, not neccessarily what order their enter score is, if you dod better than you imagined you can swap them around if you need too.

Also put down a preference in every place even if the last couple are tafe courses or thing you dont really want to to do, covers your arse for any circumstance.

In regards toi enjoying uni, its good fun but also hard work depending on what course you do. Not something that isnt un-achieveable but not something taken lightly (cept for arts courses rofl)

Why the laugh-laugh?
Im doing 3rd year eng double degree 24 contact hours a week and work part time (yes im passing well)

Good mate, is doing arts 8 contact hours a week, doesnt work and is failing. Sook he has no time to get the work done.

Thus the jokes directed at arts, i know they arnt all like that but i enjoy my inside eng joke. If it makes you feel better i make fun of my health sciences and bussiness friends lol.

Glad you enjoy it:confused:

Its a joke bagging arts students just like they bag eng students, will always happen and no one gives a stuff

yeah fair enough...just thought you meant you were paying out arts and health science students etc, making out that theyre jokes of a course compared to eng.
Btw i agree with you about arts, my mate does 6 hours a week, it's a joke. Not health sciences though, i do physiotherapy and its pretty full on

Just make sure you do the right course to begin with. I've changed courses (BSc to NEWS- both science courses) which just made it confusing when enrolments came, some units were included as credit so this year Im doing 1st and 2nd units. Officially all over the place, so my thats my advice, get it right to begin with, makes life easier :thumbsu:

I'm in my second year of Arts at La Trobe Uni (don't be fooled, it's not an easy course) but am looking for a change. Have discovered that the subjects I'm doing just aren't 'me' and the faculty admin weren't exactly flexible when I asked to change subjects so I've decided that it's time for a change of scene.

I'm going to apply for a Bachelor Of Production at the Victorian College Of The Arts. At the moment that is my dream course but I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much as it is highly competitive.

If I don't get into the VCA there are a couple of courses at Melbourne Uni that'll be on my list:
Bachelor Of Arts
Bachelor Of Arts (Media and Communication)

And from RMIT:
Bachelor Of Education
Bachelor Of Communication - Journalism
Bachelor Of Communcation - Media
Bachelor Of Social Work/Social Science (Psychology)

My advice would be to do what you're interested. Don't just feel like you have to do something because you're pressured into it/think it's the 'right' thing to do. You'll be miserable and your grades will suffer as you won't be motivated.

As Isandula said, it can be a bitch in terms of changing courses but at the same time don't feel like you are locked into something. You can change. Don't make yourself stressed thinking you have to complete the 3-5 years of something you hate.

Good luck to everyone with your choices and I hope you get what you want :)
