He clearly is under the spell of an addiction. He can't stop cavorting with individuals who make a living from the drug industry and he's not in control of himself. The WCE have thrown an enormous amount of support and resources behind him. Whether it's too little too late or not we are not in a position to know. Some of you speak as if he's gotten nothing out of the club. He's not Mother Theresa. He has been handsomely rewarded, earned 'shite' loads out of a sport he was very talented at. Don't paint him as someone who has forsaken himself ahead of everyone else.

This is a sporting competition... we haven't cheated the competition, so why do we have to punish ourselves?

It seems a players career is determined by a few corrupt cops who can plant evidence and make up any story they want or Corporations who don't want their product associated with drug users (unless their supplying the drug.)

Ben deserved to be sacked and was sacked. He broke the rules and was on the verge of reverting to his old ways.

However, I think he should have sat out 2008 regardless of whether he was sacked or not. He needs long term rehabilitation and from there we can see whether he wishes to play football again or not.

I'm glad that the drug he took was not a banned substance. I hope the media report it fairly from here on in.
