Ive decided to post a thread for the upcoming Masters this week, one of my favourite times of year.

Going to have a go on 3 outrights at this early stage

Will Zalatoris @ 41
Oosthuizen @ 46
and Robert MacIntyre in the 200 mark

Im a big fan of Cameron Smith the golfer and he is coming into the major in good form but at that price its too short for me.

I said a couple of years back that he was a chance of winning the Masters one day- this year could very well be it.

Tiger Woods

To Make the Cut $2.29 (TopSport) v $1.69 Not Make the Cut (TopSport)

who is your money on?

I think he doesnt make it. Its just a miracle for him to make it to Augusta let alone make the cut.

At 200/1 Rob MacIntyre is great value , he came T12 last year , first time up.

Ive taken also a bit of a nibble on Corey Conners at $67.

There is enough to suggest based on Conners form he can make a run again here.

Betfair Exchange have an interesting market up

Tiger Woods to Play?

Yes $1.13 v $6 No

Im also interested to see how Perth golfer, Min Woo Lee goes in his debut Masters.

Debutants though havent won a Masters in a long time.

^^^ Can get the above bet at Sportsbet at $5.28 or $5.69 with the Boost

Dustin Johnson won this tournament back in 2020 and I wouldnt look too much into his effort last year in 2021.

Spieth loves Augusta, and you could make a case for him having at least 3 Masters by now.

I’m binning that 2020 form completely. The tournament was played in November of that year due to the pandemic, which subsequently meant the greens were softer and scores were at a record high.

It’s a historically good course for lefties too, so Bobby Mac @200/1 does seem generous given how he performed here on debut

Uber talented, can strike the ball with the best of them but just too flaky atm. Could genuinely be in the first handful at the conclusion of round 1, or dead last having shot 6 over. Couldn’t back with any confidence

Ive just added Lowry to my selections as well. Has finished T25 in the last 2 Masters and a good start is pretty essential for him. If he can get a good round 1 , anything could happen come Sunday.

Form guide:

This year feels like one of the most open championships to win.

Also in my staple:

Reed @ $101
Bubba Watson @ $101
Justin Rose @ $101

Multi: Justin Thomas Top 5, Xander Schauffele Top 10, Shane Lowry Top 20 . (including Ties) Odds: 24/1

My set:

Collin Morikawa, TO MISS CUT, @5/1
Tommy Fleetwood, TOP 5, @15/1

Viktor Hovland, WIN, @21/1
Tyrell Hatton, WIN, @67/1
Marc Leishman, WIN, @81/1
Bubba Watson, WIN, @101/1

McIlroy has come close to winning Masters before and I reckon he too will be thereabouts come Sunday.

I just cant ignore Dustin Johnson, super impressive here 2 years ago and it was the margin of victory that stood out for me. I sense that if he is around the pack on Sunday, or front runner he could very well bring it home. Top 5 at $3.70 , I last saw is a great multi builder.

Im tailing you on Hovland in a Top 20 finish albeit its now under evens.

Decided 1 more for my bet slip

Dustin Johnson Top 5
McIlroy Top 10
Hovland Top 20
(all including Ties)

@ Odds of around 23/1

Defending champions have a terrible record at Masters tournament. So id be wary backing last years champ who is also playing a bit injured this year.

The DJ Top 5, McIlroy Top 10, Hovland T20 bet (all including Ties) , id advise at anything above $18 if you can get it

One more multi

MinWoo Lee to do Perth and Australia proud. Harman is a local and from what Ive heard really enjoys playing in his home state.

MinWoo Lee Top 40 , Harman Top 20 (including Ties)
Odds: 13.86

the talk is MinWoo Lee is the next real thing in Aussie golf, so why not support local?

A little cheat sheet.

In order of difficulty of holes, Holes 1, 4, 5, 7, 10 , 11 were the most difficult holes in 2021. (in no particular order)

Holes 2, 8,13,14,15,16 were the easier holes to score birdies in 2021. (in no particular order)

Can get odds ranging from $9-$10 on Hole 1 for each player, at Sportsbet if you reckon : Thomas, Scheffler, Morikawa, DJ, Rahm, Cantlay, Spieth, Hovland, Xander, Koepka, McIlroy can birdie their first hole

I would want a bit more personally.

OK I just saw the odds of McIlroy to Miss the Cut @ $7.40 as a special promo

I have to take that at that price.

Lets remember he did miss the cut last year but do sense the feeling if he can get through, he could very well win it or be at the top end come Sunday.
