ok, who could the US have taken to spread the zones. I have not followed the NBA for 5 years, who else is there?

Rip Hamiltons range extends to about 21 feet (admittedly he is a mid range shooter, though maybe the best current 15-20 foot shooter going around), Houston also has the range and accuracy.

I was under the impression Allen turned them down, and Miller's deficits counteract his shooting.

I also thought Rich Jefferson was a slasher NOT a shooter (has Drewy got it wrong on the vcoverage or am I mistaken) - Marion-like qualities, defense, running the floor filling lanes and intangibles.

Apart from Iverson, no one looks like making a shot from 15 feet out.

Jefferson is definately a slasher.

They should have taken Michael freaken Redd at the very least. A constant threat from down town and a pretty good team player. Rip rejected them because they didnt select him at first and then tried to add him. Im not sure if they asked Paul Pierce but he would have been a nice addition IMO. So many others, instead of a team of me, me, me slashers.

They needed to bring some veteran role players that can shoot and spread the floor

Brad Miller, David Wesley, Brent Barry etc etc.

This is a team that I think could play unselfish team ball

David Wesley / Kirk Hinrich
Brent Barry / Michael Redd
Lebron James / Shawn Marion
Tim Duncan / Carlos Boozer
Brad Miller / Amare Stoudemire

Replace Carmelo Anthony with Brent Barry.

Replace Richard Jefferson with Matt Harpring or Shane Battier.

Replace Emeka Okafor with Theo Ratliff.

Replace Stephon Marbury with Sam Cassell (if off-season surgery permitted).

Replace Larry Brown with Jerry Sloan.

There's your Olympic Gold Medallists.

Definitely agree with the Michael Redd call. If T-Mac played there would be a shooting option.

I agree, I'd like to shoot him.

Please dont play Jefferson, He is ******** and always will be ********. I cant believe people rate him, i cannot stand watching him play!!!

He owned in the second 'arf on the NBA season. Will be an All-Star next year.

I'm not going to criticise Jefferson because he's definitely talented, all i'm going to say is that Jason Kidd makes a lot of players look a lot better than they really are...

yeah you're right, but seriously it is painful watching Jefferson, i just cannot see why the commentators rate him. Step Marion in the lineup, he's the man with Iverson who can get the US playin better ball. Play more of Stoudamire aswell and they will be tough to beat, especially with Duncan dominating boards and points. Theyd love to have Kidd tho....

It's humourous to see so many people using Olympic form as justification of a players ability (good and bad).

Top comment there, you can't rate a player if you've only seen him play a couple of games. In my opinion (and my opinion doesn't mean it's correct), Richard Jefferson is a very talented slasher, who improved a hell of a lot last year, he's only young, and must have very good potential for the Nets to keep him instead of K-mart.

Ive been a huge fan of NBA for years, and havent changed my opinion. RJ is nothin but a hack

Guys, Jefferson thoroughly owned when JKidd and KMart were out towards the end of last year.

The only way jefferson will be an all-star is if he moves to Australia and plays for the Hunter Pirates, and imo the nets will struggle this year

ps sorry hunter fans
