According to the Sun Herald Nov 27 the match will

- Be played with a red, white and blue ball
- Gridiron field markings
- Gridiron goalposts
- 4 x 20 min 1/4's
- Unlimited interchange

Venue = Franklin Field (Philly USA)

A hybrid of League & American football, anyone?

I thought the poms were the king of bragging. I should have known. I really should've. I mean, its AMERICA after all.

The yank team I believe has come out and stated that they can BEAT the aussie's. Beat them at what? Beat them back into the sheds after they've been beaten 641-0?

Don't be fooled. Most of them & Gridiron converts, they can easily adapt quite well in rugby leaguee.

Yeah America look like they are on their way to winning 641-0

Gocats-some sources have in at 8500, others at 4500, and the bitter old crones at PlanetRugby at 1000. I'd opt for around 5000. There's no way it was over 6k.

Good enough crowd. Hopefully they follow up with a rematch next year.

A poor mans gridiron.

The Kangaroos.

You know what's funnier Scrumhalf?

Tirinui-NSWRL reject.
Gitteau-Raiders S.G Ball Bench.
Wendy-Nuff Said.
Gerrard-Outcompeted by SAM MURPHY. SAM MURPHY FOR CHRISSAKES!!!
Tuqiri-One of 5 best RU players in the world...

Now, add a Saffer, and you've probably got 80% of the Wallabies backline (Minus Dell, of Course) for the near future. With Braith at Stand-off, and it's looking even funnier...

You'd fit in with the Vichy revival group...

I've always thought that the Kangaroos were a bloody awesome side, the creme de la creme of the finest League comp on the planet.

Is this side as good as we thought if some amateur never-played-league-before side can really take it up to us?

10-Braith Anasta
11-Lote Tuqiri*
12-Matt Gitteau

So we didn't get the 20,000 some promised

We used the Rugby Union PR... 20,000 when it was never going too get more then 8 thousand
Same as the 3 billion people who will watch the Union WC

the attendance was lower than expected b/c the weather was pretty bad. around 0 celcius i think and raining.

as for the astroturf- it wasn't, so no turf burns. its the new hybrid type turf called field turf. it has fake synthetic grass blades and black rubbers mini pellets instead of grass. its really soft and nothing like the old carpet turf. its used in many NFL football stadiums and soccer/football teams use it on practice fields across the world, including Real Madrid.

Got the game on tape and watched it a few times, the aussies let the yanks play like that and made it look like a contest.
How many times can a team make a break and the just drop the ball when near the try line?

They did put on a good show, but as Hurbie said.....it should of been played in Moscow against the Russians.

But 1 thing, any publicity is good publicity and im happy with the way it went.

Remember Goulburn beating the crap out of the Tomahawks in Feb this yr, must of been 1 hellava hangover the roo's had.

Now where's my time machine so i can put that dang bet on
