USB Flash Drives

I'm looking to get one, I just love the ease of use and the ability to store so much data. Anyway, I was wondering whether anyone knows what brands/makes are good and what are bad. And would you recommend buying one that also is an MP3 player as well.

If what you're after is a USB memory card, do NOT buy an iPod.
If what you're after is a USB-compatible MP3 player, then yeah, iPods are good, if expensive.

The battery in an iPod is replaceable, although originally they weren't supposed to be. You do actually have to go into an Apple store to get it changed, though. I think it was around $99, although I'm sure some resident Mac freak will be able to correct me.

The question of whether to get one that's an MP3 player as well seems odd to me.

Do you want a memory card, or an mp3 player? You're spending significant amounts of extra money to add that ability, so you should probably consider how much you want it.

Can anybody give me an opinion on the Creative Nomad Hard drive based MP3 Player? I'm on the market to buy one and want to get a comparison between it and the iPod....

Yeah, I understand what you're saying, I'm really interested in the memory card that's all, but when I was browsing e-bay the combined mp3 player wasn't that much extra. Probably not that interested in it anymore, its probably like cameras on mobiles, more of a novelty thing.

Anyway, can someone still advice me on a good brand?

I have an MP3 player which is also a USB stick, I payed $120 odd for it on ebay and it's fine. Pretty much the same as a disk but you can listen to music too.

Did anyone read the article in the Hun about how they will be replacing DVD's (already) with USB drives??
