So after a heartbreaking off-season, I've lost four of my favourite players in Browny, Tooves, Caff and Swan ( :( ). I'll be accepting suggestions for new favourite player in this thread - at the moment Taylor Adams is looking like the man but I'll possibly be swayed by strong arguments for Maynard and Ramsay, even Sinclair.

So if you could all please make recommendations, it'd be greatly appreciated. Otherwise I'll be jumping back on Ben Kinnear for season 2017...

The Berg Berg Berg, the Berg is the word....

But from the 3 you've listed, Maynard. He is going to be immense.
Open to Shaz.

At least when Tarks retired I had a couple of absolute gem performers in the Grand Finals to choose from. This year it's seeming more likely I'll support a position (ie. whoever is st half back) than a player.

Are our players becoming less likeable? :(

You've abandoned Tarkyn Lockyer?

I'm in the same boat with the departure of Wittsy.

Grundy, Adams in pole position, Elliott when he starts playing again of course, Aish also coming along nicely.

I was also a big fan of Keeffe for a while there so hopefully he can get back to form and back into the 22.

I could never do that! But unless we draft him, it doesn't seem likely he'll fit the requirements of the vacancy left by Browny :(

Wittsy was another of mine too, albeit a little below the four I mentioned in the pecking order.

I've always been a fan of Keeffe (and Thomas) but unfortunately I don't see either having all that much impact in their first year back.

Bad things happen to those you call favourite players, so...would you consider Levi as a suitable candidate perhaps? White? Hmmm?

Not White, I actually like him ;) maybe Levi though :p

Actually another strange coincidence is that I've done my ACL ~ 6 months after each of Caff's. Conspiracy?? :(

I must admit I was not a fan of Keeffe in his early days, but he earned my admiration off the back of some consistent surprisingly good performances. I'm hoping for a big year from him.

Scharenberg is another that I will quickly rally behind if he can get into the team.

Jesse White was outstanding the last half of the season, I hope he continues that way.

I agree, I was more having a joke about the connection between Tark's favourites and their fortunes at the club more generally. I'm in no hurry to see either of White or Greenwood leave, or Blair for that matter...

Penders only with the departure of Swanny but I can see Aish with a promising year pushing for the award.

Darcy has to make up for the sins of the father. Still not happy about the whole Melbourne thing.

....just to add the Moore family owe us a Brownlow

My whole family loves JOSH SMITH.
He is just so happy to be at Collingwood playing footy.
Not gonna lie, I'm a pretty big detractor of his but hopefully he keeps improving and goes on to prove me wrong by carving out a fantastic career with us.

With Swan retiring I also have a spot open. I don't know whether my next favourite is going to be an established star like Pendles or Treloar. A gun on the up like Moore, Grundy or De Goey. Or a player who has faced lots of setbacks but keeps battling on like Shaz or Ramsay.

I always have a soft spot for defenders so Maynard will always be a favourite of mine. I bought his jumper on the online auction after 2015 so I'm hoping he keeps 37 for a while.

Taylor Adams. Grunt factory and natural born leader. One to watch.

I can't comment on our recent trades but from last years list.
Not enough love for our gentle giant Rupert in this thread.
Grundy, Smith & Aish have a high cuddle factor similar to Brown and Tooves
