Just wondering if anyone else is having issues accessing the VAFA website, or any other website hosted by the same mob ? The display is just blank.

I just got on then.

Office is closed for another week, so don't expect any new items until then.

Even though the website is still going, they've shut down for the Christmas/New Year period. I think nothing new will be added until the season starts. However, I would like to see VAFA video highlights of games played over a weekend of VAFA football (the WAFL website does this) so that people here in Australia and overseas can access to a VAFA highlights package, possibly of A Section games, as well as an audio highlights package of 88.3 Southern FM's VAFA Sunday and 96.5 Inner FM's call of the A Section Match of the Day. Maybe even better still, people from Australia and overseas could access the 96.5 Inner FM's LIVE call of the VAFA Match of the Day on the VAFA website as well. It doesn't matter if it was 1am London time Saturday morning or 4pm in NZ, go to the VAFA website, click on VAFA media and listen to live coverage of St Bernards v Old Xaverians from the Snakepit. Then on Sunday morning (or Sunday afternoon) log on to listen to a audio highlights package of VAFA Sunday with Tom Brain & Steve McCarthy.

Season start!! That's 3 1/2 months away Jase.
Even the world renowned Hampton Rovers' site will have turned itself over a few times before then!! :p

There will be new material up and running in the next week or so.

But what about the ideas I mentioned above (ie audio & video coverage of VAFA matches on the VAFA website)? I think that's not a bad idea, especially for people who work or live overseas and miss VAFA (and grassroots) football. If the VAFA wants to be pro-active in this area, here's their chance. If we can't have VAFA on channel 31, a VAFA highlights show (like a few years ago) and live audio of VAFA games supplied by Inner FM might be the way to go.

Cost would be to big to contemplate something like this Jas. Alot of your ideas are blocked by the money problem. I believe that the VAFA overcharge as it is. Why would clubs at lower levels want to pay for advertisement of A grade games?

OK, what about this:

1) audio highlights of 88.3 Southern FM'sVAFA Sunday each week on the website for news & scores
2) Like the couple of years a VAFA preview show on the website, possibly on Thursday/Friday
3) LIVE Internet coverage of A Section GF.

Jason I reckon there's slightly better options at midnight in London in the middle of summer than listening to a highlights package of the 88.3 Southern FM wrap.

But maybe that's just me.

I's be more likely to trawl the net for swimming results, such as the following:

Lorne Surf Club 2008 Pier to Pub Results

Josh Minogue Open Male 13.14

Brooke Hanson Open Female 16.45

Jonathon Horn Open Male 21.57

I guess the swell was a bit heavy this year JGH? I had you a monty to go sub-20 minutes with those massive shoulders of yours!!!!!

Did you manage to catch up with young Brooke at the bar and buy her a $7 schooner?

Ah yes, thanks for that old son.

A tough day at the office for JGH. Goggle and wetsuit malfunctions, mid race fisticuffs - but you know what they say about excuses...

I gave the delightful Miss Hanson a wide berth - as you may know, not the best of buddies...
