Got dropped for Daryl Freame actually. Was in the side and got dropped for not showing up to a compulsory pysch meeting on the Thursday night because he took his gf to a movie.

I never knew that story and just read a bit more about it on OER.

I have always wondered why he didnt play in that Grand Final as I actually liked the way he played and remember a number of his dashes up the wing.

Everyone would want to be listed as a premiership player but I think it would have been frustrating sitting thier all day and knowing that a bloke would have to go down in order to get a run. I think Freame ran on for about five minutes at the very end.

Rotation back then was Phillip Bottoms, Carryl Freame or Ian Schrimshaw sitting in front of the members all day in thier Richmond gowns and occassionaly going for a jog up and down the boundary line.

For those who don't remember him or did not see him play he is probably most famous for being on the receiving end of an almighty hit from Mad dog Robbie Muir which gets show a lot on old video highlights - when he played for the blues

I am easily old enough to remember him.
Used to terrorise teams with his blistering pace up and down the wings. I was glad to see come to tigerland from the blues as we found him hard to match up on. Was never sure why he played so few games with us as he was undoubtedly talented.

Nevertheless he wore the tiger guernsey with distinction.

Sorry to hear the sad news. Never forget this game, it was 1st live VFL game ever broadcast into Tassie. Wil never forget seeing Mad Dog do this. Vale Dennis Collins
