Played the longest Test innings ever and held the highest f-c score record until beaten by Lara.

He must have been some player. I remember two of his brothers, Mushtaq and Sadiq.
 
There is a story about Hanif when he once played a limited overs game for A World XI in 1966. The World were batting second and Hanif was batting with South African legend Graeme Pollock. Limited overs cricket still in its early stages back then, and it obviously took certain players a while to get used to the rules. At one point Hanif came down the pitch to chat with Pollock and expressed his concern as to whether the World would score the required runs by stating,"Perhaps we should play for a draw."
