Someone really needs to work out how to warp space and time in real life, so we can enjoy these sorta things when playing human opponents
It's not really good enough is it mate? Scientists need to get their priorities sorted out. Aside from a few who are doing good work on realistic breast physics in games and cartoons* you really have to wonder what they are doing with their time. Questions need to be asked.

*Just on the subject of breasts, i was flicking through the channels yesterday morning (after perving on Shae Brewster on Saturday Disney) and on GEM there was this old comedy western. It all seemed to be very tame except - and this is pretty significant given the time slot - a woman was wearing a see through nightie and you could see her nipples clear as anything. It was unnerving but exciting at the same time.

I reckon that when it was shown in standard definition you couldn't see the nipples, but when it's shown in hi def it's awesomness becomes apparent. I'm gonna check out some blu rays of Some Like It Hot and shit, see if i can find some long forgotten about T**ty shots :thumbsu:

There have been a couple of games that have used bullet time before in MP...or had games that have been primarily bullet time users in SP and then modified it for MP (usually the use of 'time grenades' are the big things).

But personally, the whole MP thing is more based on the extreme fast pace of the game coupled with the amazing 3rd person controls. Chuck in some suit perks (like maybe a jet flying boost) and it would compensate for the lack of bullet time in MP.

But yeah, it's all about the pace and tight controls, that's what makes it just about mind boggling as to why they didn't implement SOMETHING for 2 players to have a go of!

lol that's fair enough :thumbsu:

There's been a paradigm shift* in multiplayer this generation and you get the impression that a game like Vanquish loses a lot of interest by being single player only. Look at this thread, 25 posts? Compare that to the call of duty threads on here! Ah well, if there's a vanquish 2 it will be interesting to see if any multiplayer is added.

*i don't really know what paradigm shift means, i just wanted to write it because it looks cool.

I would even go as far to say that in hindsight, Paradigm Shift would have been a far cooler alias than Valentino Dmitri

Absolutely mate, was a missed opportunity :(

In all seriouness, last week i was listening to an old Get This podcast where Tony Martin was telling an old typeface story (as opposed to that ill advised series of blackface stories that he ran with a few years back) about how you have to be very careful when selecting the font with which you write Clint Eastwood, because sometimes an L and an I in close proximity look like a U (LI). It's the same problem when writing flicker. I'd never heard of this before but looked it up on the net and there's some pretty disasterous old comics that fell into the trap of naming a character Clint. Great stuff.

So yeah, I which I'd called my alias Clint Flicker, but all in capitals :thumbsd:

Used to play in a indoor cricket league where one team was called THE CLINTS.

Was always tactfully written on the fixture whiteboard:thumbsu:

I just finished Vanquish today and thought it was worth bumping this thread.

One of the more enjoyable games I've played in a while.

Just crazy, over the top, Japanese wackiness with a average story byt just a lot of fun.

Worth playing since you can get it pretty cheap these days.

This was always on my radar but I never got around to it. Just picked this up for $9 and have only finished Act 1.

I couldn't keep going as my eyes and mind are in overdrive. So intense and so much going on at once. Awesome game

Just finished, playing on hard. Best 5 hours of quality fast paced gaming for a long time! (more like 8-10 hours with all the deaths)

Ran into some tough spots but a little practice and learning the AI patterns got me through without too much trouble.

Incredibly underplayed game, just like Spec Ops: The Line which I played just before this. If anyone is thinking about playing either, get on it.

I remember this game - was a terrible story, bland characters and nothing much compelling about it though it's gameplay was awesome. Bullet time slow mo sliding and gliding - more games should do this :thumbsu:

Have just started the challenges. Knocked off challenge 1 easily enough. Have heard plenty about how hard challenge 4 and 6 are, essentially equivalent to the hardest trophies in wipeout.

Well after 3 long nights of getting my ass handed to me I finally managed to beat challenge 6 and get the platinum. I think the campagin took me 5 hours and I spent over double that on this challenge.

I'd have to say that it was as difficult or even harder than the hardest wipeout trophies. I managed to breeze through all the other challenges (beat #4 on 2nd attempt) but I must've died on challenge 6 at least 100 times.

However not once did I not enjoy it all. You know your playing a great game when it keeps you coming back like that after utterly destroying you time after time. That has given me an ever greater appreciation of this incredible game.
