vBulletin not working in FF4

Hi,

I'm just having a bit of trouble with vBulletin on Bigfooty (I only use vBulletin on Bigfooty I should add).

I'm running Firefox 4 Beta and at the moment I can't select any of the Smilies, can't choose to hyperlink, can't bold or underline etc. Also, when I do post any formatting I've done (e.g. paragraphs or team lineups) are lost when the post is finally made.

If I quote someone an example of what shows up is below (I've added the x to show what comes up):
[xquote=Flashhh;20355588]Just like we all knew it would be McLean? <img src="http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)" smilieid="8" class="inlineimg" /><br />
<br />
Grimes, Scully, McKenzie would be my three, in that order too.[/quotex]<br />
<br />

I'm posting this on Internet Explorer 64 bit on the same machine with none of the above issues.

Any thoughts on what I can do to fix this?

It's all html. It's clearly a bug on the part of the beta Firefox 4.

Report it to them. It'll help them know what experiences you're having. It's your responsibility as a beta user (although you can ignore doing this if you so chose).

You think so? I was thinking it might be the Java or Flash that vBulletin uses. I'm after terms to scour google with - vBulletin and Firefox 4 Beta isn't revealing it to be a common problem, which I would expect it to be.

BigFooty/vB doesn't use Java or Flash... Not for this anyway. It uses a combo of plain ol' html mixed with PHP and AJAX for this sorta stuff.

It's obviously extracting the formatted (html) version of the quote rather than just plain unformatted text. As the person above suggested, it's probably something you should report to Firefox - that's why you use Beta afterall. :)

Thanks CC. I'm using my laptop at the moment with a Firefox 4 Release candidate and no issues. Might rule out your hypothesis - I'll double check in the morning. Sleep now.
