"versing"

Where did this expression come from? "The Saints are versing the Swans on Friday?" All the kids at school say it and it drives me balmy. There is no such word as versing, although given it's popular usage amongst school kids may become proper usage.

tell me about it, I made a point about this the other week in the tech forum and people didn't know what I get p!$$ed off for.

I blame the teachers, parents and kids themselves.
The teachers cannot teach these days. They are all too worried about their pay packets.
99% of parents these days have NO IDEA! they over baby their kids, not pulling them up for anything they do, they let them get away with words like "versing", "you's" & "flip flops".
The kids these days do not want to learn and there for cannot speak english.
I say if you hear a kid use the word versing, hit them, if you get pulled up for it by a techer or their parents, tell them that there's no such word as versing and that they are not doing their job.

Kids these days are all like computers, they need it punched into them!
