Do you know if any games will be scheduled before the senior match at the MCG, or will all games be played at 2pm as per usual?

Would have been great if Tuck could stick around and help the younger players out. Great role model/example for those younger players.

Guys like Newman and King who might only have a few years left might be keen to be supplementary players. Also not a bad way to see who might be worth drafting in future and getting them in early so they can start learning our structures and gameplan etc

apologies, but we've gone through the same thing this year starting the Ess VFL team from scratch, so i'll fill you in on how we did it (which isn't necessarily the way you'll go, but just to get an idea).

We brought over a few really solid senior players from Bendigo in Shinners, Duscher and Freezer, which worked really well, so I'd say at a guess Nick Carnell will be approached at the very least to come over and skipper the side. Probably a few other current Coburg guys.
From there it'll be a combination of:

• VFL listed guys from around the traps, AFL delistees (we picked up Matty Bate, who's a very good VFL player), Lonergan and Stephenson are guys I could see staying on if Richmond don't renew their contracts.
• Northern Knights guys who go undrafted, as they're the local TAC team.
• Blokes of all ages who your recruiters want to keep a close eye on, or even 'hide' for a year. We've done this with a couple, wouldn't at all surprise me to see up to 3 of them on AFL lists next year.
• Guys from the VAFA and local comps like the EDFL.

I hope for you guys' sakes you play your games at Punt Road, Windy Hill is a great place to watch footy, and Punt Road would be just as good, if not better, since it's had a bit of a revamp recently.
