2pm start tomorrow at ABD Group stadium, coburg.

I can make it this week so i will be able to report on the game but get along if you can seens as though the afl play interstate.

Both teams have strong squads named, obviously 2 or 3 of those players will be in the afl for Richmond and both sides will probably have 1 emergency not play at all this weekend. Im guessing it will be ryan gamble for us.

We have a tall forward line so i can see Lonergan playing down back, but we have Lonergan, Hogan, McKenna and Weadon all back this week

Should be an interesting game. I'd fancy us at this stage but there's a lot of AFL experience in that Coburg side, plus a few highly touted youngsters, and relatively little for us. Our forward line is very tall but you'd think Dawson/West would be rotating through the ruck and the bench rather than upforward. Glad that Casey Tutungi is first up on the bench as well, must be playing well.

And lol at Oakley-Nicholls not being bold. They haven't delisted him yet :p

In other news, where is Tom Allwright? Isn't on the injury list and isn't named. Sounded like had been playing well in the practice games, too.

yeah good spot up i didnt notice his absense, must be minor if not on the injury list

Unceremoniously stolen from the Richmond forum, we lost 178 - 104.

No goals for Vegas... I'm tipping he didn't play. Oh and Johnson as our best? He is meant to be playing tonight...

Well there's a spanner in the works.

Ah, so there is. Good effort from him then!

Is it possible we took all 3 emergencies over to Adelaide?

Look, it was a dirty day for the boys, to there defense Coburg has a very strong side in and we had Milburn pull out of the seniors which caused Lonergan to play, and Gamble was emergency so it was a tough day, coburg had players like Jay Shultz (7 goals) Tambling who had a fair bit of it, Jake King, Pattinson, Edwards, Thomson, Coughlan and others plus some handy Vfl listed players...i think our problem is our vfl players arent as good as all the other clubs and it proves when we have injuries we just cant cut it

The game was Coburgs all day except for maybe a bit at the start of the 3rd quarter where the game went from being 6 goals the difference to us getting 3 goals in 5 minutes to put the score within 3 goals but they just kicked away, the backline battled hard but they were under pressure all day, coburg had players everywhere and our forwards couldn't do much because it wasn't down there much. Absentees were Taylor Hunt and Tom Alwright for unknown reasons

Kane Tenace - Watched him reasonably closely and he does not man up!!! he goes to a contest and leaves his man out the back way to much and that is why he isn't playing at a higher level, he had numerous opponents but number 2 for them kicked 2 or 3 on him, also had a kick in and kicked it straight to the opposition player who just missed an easy goal but got this one.

Trent West - Did alright, did enough to put his name up for selection again, Atleast he marks the football unlike big Dawson.

Dawson Simpson - Might be a good player at vfl level if he learns how to take contested markls around the ground, and up forward to. So many times the ball gets kicked out of full back to him and he has an obvious height advantage but gets hands to it and it falls out, also he blows up quickly.

Nathan Djerkurra - Thought he was good, provided an option through the middle and used the ball well. Played on a wing this week

Scott Simpson - Didn't have much of the footy at all, works hard and kicked 2 goals but wasn't a day for him. Couldnt really expect him to do anymore

Adam Donohue - Played back all day, tried hard like the rest of the defense but made some crutial errors, missing a spoil and a costly turnover kick but other then those 2 things he was serviceable

Tom Gillies - He had a few opponents, Jay Shultz kicked 7 but he kicked them on about 4 different opponents, not a great day for young Tom but the ball was coming in alot.

David Johnson - Easily best for us i thought, he always tried to help out his team mates with going 3rd man up, got a bit of the ball and i dont think his opponent got much, courage was on show today.

Dan McKenna - I actually didnt even see him get a touch i dont think except for a kick out, played as a taller back, dont really know how his opponent went so cant comment

Simon Hogan - Not a typical Hogan game today, fumbled the ball a fair bit actually which just isnt him, normally one of the cleanest players at the club, got a bit of it and really tried hard but there midfield were everywhere so i would of thought his man beat him hands down today

Brodie Moles - Love his work, kicked 3 brilliant goals, boy does he have a boot on him, but...he was apart of the midfield who got hammered so his opponent would of got a fair bit of it aswell

Jeremy Laidler - Had an interesting game, didnt play the last quarter so he must of got injured but he had a simple kicking error where he was kicking from full back and did a tenace and kicked it straight to the opposition which is unlike him, but the highlight of his day was where Shultz, Vickery and Tambling were all in the goal square and the ball got kicked up high and Jeremy was the only cats player there and he outmarked all of them.

Bryn Weadon - Kicked 2 goals for his 1st game but does look sluggish in the fitness department, better for the run, nice 1st effort from a 1st gamer

Podsy got in the best but i didnt think he did anything but how could he, Kane smith kicked 3 goals in the last quarter and looks like he will be a good back up midfielder.
