Currently in ho chi Minh city, but going up the coast ending in Hanoi in two weeks time. So I ask GD, where have you been in Vietnam and do you have any advice on what to do (or not do) here?

Thanks in advance for any help

Never been to Vietnam but have many friends who have and have all enjoyed their experience.

Are you on holidays Lazarus?

It would be in my top 5 future holidays which would also include England and Italy.

I think boxy has been to Vietnam but correct me if I'm wrong.

I went a few years ago. Stayed in Ho Chi Minh for about a week and a half aswell as going to a small town in the mountians called Dalat. Was a very nice place.:thumbsu:

Loved Ho Chi Minh. Just loved the fact that there were so many little cheap bars (this was back in my drinking days) and the number of cheap dvd shops lol

The Meekong Delta was also very cool. Probably would've done the overnight tour if I had have had more time.

I spent 2 weeks in Vietnam in 2007.

It's still the best country I have ever visited and plan heading back soon.

Started in Ho Chi Minh then headed north through Danang to Hoi An. Then to Hue - caught the train to Hanoi plus Halong Bay by bus.

So pretty much the same path as you.

We missed out going to Na Trang (which I've heard is great) 'cos we caught an internal flight from HCM to Danang. The flight was pretty much the scariest flight of my life TBH.

Didn't go any further North than Hanoi.

PM me if you want any more info.

I won't bore everyone with a TL;DR
