I got a new game the other day and have been playing it, anyway its got a little time thing on it where you can speed up the game. Everytime i speed it up it freezes. Piece of ****.

Then i saw this little box come up about windows (XP) being low on virtual memory and how windows is going to increase it or something.

Has this got something to do with the game? How do I get the game to work properly without it freezing all the time?

Help please!!

is there somewhere i can look up on my computer where it says how much RAM the computer has, and how much is left?

i already uninstalled a heap of other games which took up more MBs then it and its not like the HD is full or anything, much of the opposite actually.

check your bios or during the boot screen it will say, or if you have WinXP (pretty sure its the same on all windows os) right click on My Computer and choose Properties, then look for Computer (it will be the last thing on the box) and under there it should say.

Feher was correct but that won't tell you how much is left. For that, either press ctrl-alt-del and slect task manager, or start task manager by clicking on start-. run-> type in 'taskmgr.exe' and click on run.

Select the 'performance' option to see totals, or go to processess to see which application is using what.

Uninstalling games will have no affect on RAM. It's only things that are actually running that use RAM.

u dont need 256mb

i only have 128 mb and i run xp pro with a 40 gig hd

processor is only a 933mhz P3

and also use it for online games.

the trick is to not have extra programs running in the background.

u can check this by using CTRL+ALT+DELETE

yer well ive always been able to play anything else, maybe its just a **** game!

cos everything else is all good, 80gig hd, which is only 20% or so full.

processor is 1.79ghz i believe.

this is just strange. and annoying.

yeh its called Airport Tycoon 2.

You build your own airport, i thought it was pretty crap but now that I've figured out what to do its ok. But when you build things the time is in real time, but you can speed it up, but yeh if I do that that is when it freezes.

I don't know how much memory it uses.

Windows uses a heck of a lot of stuff that doesnt need to be used. If you are prepared to edit the start up a bit you can save quite a bit of memory.

The following website is very good to use, however please READ EVERYTHING on there before making changes. Its well worth your time. Super Tweaks

Ps. Have you tried reinstalling the game. Alternatively find a message board for that particular game, if you are having problems its most likely that others have had the same problem. Heck there might even be a patch for it.
