No. Let him see out his contract at least.

1. Let's see if he can produce a magic pre-season given how much expectation there now is on it. AND how much he's mentioned it. AND how well it is known as a season maker. AND how messy the last one was.

2. Let's develop or borrow some methods that promote good strategic thinking in the players so they're not individually lost out on the field if little things don't go to plan. The fitness issue is apparently dealt with.

3. PLUS, the club would be thrown into disarray if Bomber was sacked. It would take a long time to find a good coach and a long time to rejig the machine to fit the new one in.

he has been an afl coach for 7 seasons now. Should have worked this out or had himself surrounded by people competent enough to do it for him. The sacking of the fitness coach in mid season was a band-aid, scapegoat decision that was made to late in any respect.

OMG! What are you puffing on. Once again bomber has been in charge long enough to have developed these magical strategic plans that have never happened. He tried to base our club on the Brisbane model but that didn't work, are we to start emulating Adeliade. Being reactive instead of proactive is the hallmark of Mr.Thompson are you suggesting we give him licence to continue this crap.

you are a clown....we were meant to believe that Geelong was at 11:45pm of the premiership clock and now we are back to square one. Accepting mediocrity is something that certain Geelong "fans" seem to relish. Not me I'm sick of it and want answers and attempts to turn this club around.

I was a lapsed GFC supporter - got turned off it for a lot of years after disappointment and only in the last couple of years got back into it. I suppose it's hard for me to go back down the disappointment path again so I deny it. Maybe I am a clown after all...

I would have cared about the result, but was getting some GREAT loving at the time.

Turned on the tv with 60 seconds left in the final quarter, turned it off agin with 57 seconds to go, and decided there were better things to do in my bedroom.

So....moral of the story........take a chill pill kids, and enjoy the finer things in life.

But will he? He knows he's got the president and CEO wrapped around his little finger, he knows he's got another year to go (what is the chance that they extend his contract at the end of the year?) and he wants to coach Hawkins next year.

The only way he'll go is to be sacked and that just won't happen under Costa.

Yeah that is a good point. But Ablett is surely the one who is going to lead us and who won't do anything stupid *cough* Mooney *cough* and Lingas just gotta lift and i dont think giving him the responsibility will improve his game. Sack Steven King for not being a leader and make Ablett a leader cos he is the son of GOD!

You tell me who would you get if Bomber was sacked. There isn't a decent Coach/Assistant Coach out there at the moment. We can't afford to get another coach who is inexperienced. Would you like to see the lilkes of Gary Ayres or John Devine back at the club. They were nearly the ruination of our Club.

I don't think Bomber is anywhere near as bad as those 2 put together.

dont sack bomber. he got the club up and running. steven king great captain, player but he is over his captaincy days. Give it to some new blood like Cameron Mooney or Tom Harley born leaders.

Wayne Carey. There's one out of left field. He knows footy and hopefully wouldn't offer the same pathetic excuses like Thompson does.

Just to clarify, I wouldn't put Devine in the same class as Ayres. People forget that the majority of the 1989 side under Blight were recruited under Devine.
