Side note: I felt like Venables arrived in that first half today. He was pure class when the game was cooking.[/QUOTE]

Spot on, even when he didn’t win the ball I thought his pressure/effort was at an elite level.

This may be my bias talking but I can’t think of a small forward who has outperformed Cripps in the back 10 weeks of the year.

5: Redden
4: Cripps
3: JK
2: Ryan
1: Shuey

HMs: Jetta's first half, LeCras, Hurn, Sheed, Venners ... alright, everyone.
DHM: The ballot

Extra special honourable mention: the poster who's offered to sell me his tickets, you're a star.

5. Redden
4. Cripps
3. Hurn
2. JK
1. Ryan - especially those repeat sprint efforts and simply making Lewis look like a slow old prat with his long run and pass to the Frenchman

Cannot believe the grades the journalists gave Vardy and Lycett. The boys negated old Maxi meaning we nullified their biggest asset.

Symptomatic of the quality of analysis surrounding our sport and the AFL fantasy points approach to judging a players contributions.

I found it really tough to pick out 5 players. May have been the different vantage point from the back row of the stadium (still awesome seats) or may have been the copious beers and my excessive arrogance in cheering and celebrating.

But I'm gonna go with:

5: Hurn
4: Cripps
3: Redden
2: Ryan
1: Venables

Based on a re-watch of the 1st half as that's where the game was won:

5. Kenedy
4. Redden
3. Ryan
2. Cripps
1. Shuey

We had no passengers- out standing effort. I particularly liked the improvement in Venners and Duggan. Both were hard at it and clean. Duggan back to his wrecking ball best.
We actually had a hell of a lot of passengers in the QF against the Pies. If we bring that intent and constancy and everyone stands up like they did in the Prelim and with JK and JD now taking their marks then I don't care how much the Vic media blow wind up Collingwood's arse for their pressure against Richmond (which was impressive btw), we will beat them soundly.

I think I've watched the game about 6 times now. The first half was obviously where it was won and Kennedy tore the game apart so he nudges Redden.

5. Kennedy
4. Redden
3. Cripps
2. Ryan
1. Hurn

HM: Everyone of course, but I loved what I saw from Lecras and Jetta. Both were fantastic in the first half. Both such clever players. Venables too, thought he played his best game for us.

Coaches votes... can you give yourself the votes? Simpson and his team are simply brilliant. Negating Gawn, Ryan, Rioli, Cripps running off the back of the square, playing on the wing, what a brilliant performance.

Now to pick apart Collingwood.

5. Redden - Midfield masterclass
4. Kennedy - Won the game early for us.
3. Cripps - Been our best player this second half of the year.
2. Hurn - Yeah good call making Franklin captain over him...
1. Ryan - Absolutely electric

HM: The whole team. Could give votes to everyone.

Also thought this was Duggans best game all year.
