I am not sure which way the votes should go but I liked the efforts of Henderson, Bower, Russell, Betts (late), Garlett (in patches) and not real sure who else and these are in no particular order. 1 thing I am sure off is Judd was not our best player, not even close, had absolutely no impact. Those who are giving him 5 votes have NFI and just get all w--ked up over possessions which mean SFA.

4. Henderson - took marks, contested and on the lead, kicked goals and also worked all night
3. Betts - another one who put in all night, shame he didn't get the reward early
2. Joseph - excellent job on a dangerous forward, took some great marks too
1. Armfield - another excellent shut down job on a dangerous player

Would have liked to squeeze Bower in, but I thought the jobs Joseph and Armfield did were more important.

Carrazzo would have got 2 for his work on Pavlich, but then he lost 2 for his shocking turnovers.

Russell would have got 3 for his persistent run of half back, but letting his man get away when the game was there to be won cost him.

In regards to Gibbs, he didn't get in my votes last night because i thought he didn't have a great influence over the match, but some of his long penetrating 55-60m kicks were absolutely fantastic hitting team mates on the chest, a skill almost no other player in our team has. It was (dare i say it) Goddard like.

Thats what he needs to aspire to play like Goddard & use his kicking to get himself out of trouble.

Too many times he gets confronted & turns back and dished off handballs.

Absolutely we lack long kicks, Gibbs & Russell only 2 who come to mind.
