3 votes - Joel Bowden :thumbsu:

You are a dead set moron if you don't agree. He killed Jon Brown AGAIN while getting 25 possies himself! He was by far the most influential player on the ground.

Not only OUR best player, but kept the 2nd best player in the AFL to a very quiet game.

yeah i stuffed up my votes, should have been

3 Richo
2 Foley
1 Bowden

3- Richo
2- Polak
1 -Bowden

BTW, I see we have some legendary footy brains in this forum. I mean, we have an "expert" giving Tiv 3 and another giving Pettifer 1? LMAO...sheeesh......The damning thing is that i have the feeling the brains trust in the coaches box see it the same way...which is a real concern. ;)

3. Jackson beat Black hands down after 37 possies the week before, had 16 possies for the game.
2. King was very solid down back and created a fair bit of of our run out of the back line.
1. Foley tough hard working game from the kid again showing the way in the middle.

^^^ Bowden played on Brown 1-on-1 most of the night, Im sure Polak was meant to help out, but but he kepts bloody slipping over in the contest.

Bowden was also had the best use of pill for us

thats what I thought too, polak was on platfull or someone else. overall the backs did well.

Brown had 2 players on him most of the night - Bowden and Polak. FFS.

Come on, how many times did Joel beat Jon 1 on 1? Spoiling was superb and in that last quarter Bowden really set us up but stopping Brown in 50/50 contests, winning the ball, and using it properly.

Bowden is a great, great player. I dare say he has been the best defender to play on Jon Brown in the last 2 years, he has consistently shut him down while winning tonnes of ball.

I thought Polak was good but down on his usual form this year, he had a lot of trouble with the Telstra Dome surface.

Oh, I love Joel. Hes my favourite player. I just thought, especially in the first half, Polak was the loose man in defence aware of Brown most of the time. Bowden was good though.

I thought it would have probably done us more good to go 1 on 1 most of the night. But, what can you do?

First half Bowden had Polak sitting either in front or behind on his waiting to be 3rd man up in the contest. Matthews was smart and moved Patful forward after half time and forced Polak to take a man. Wallace then used Schulz as the spare man back when Polak went to play Ruck to relieve Pattison. Bowden was good in a few 1-1 contests but when Brown had the ball delivered to his advantage he had JB's measure.

Also I would discount about 6-10 of his possies as they were from kicks that travelled backwards when we made the wrong choice coming out of defence and had to retreat.

Me thinks Polak went to play ruck to relieve Charman of leather poisoning more like it. ;)

I can't believe how many have dismissed Tivendales game. Used the Ball better then anyone on the ground and kicked long and direct hitting targets. Takled hard, and was on the bottom of packs all night. Open your eye's.

.......and yes I have long been critical of him but tonight he was sensational.

Tivendale was good tonight nut. Espcially in the second half when the Tigers had to step it up a bit. His last few weeks have been good and I think this season has been better than previous ones.

3.J.Bowden - Beat Brown in most 1 on 1 conteset and set up very well.
2.Jackson - Kept a player averaging more than 25 disposals a game to 16 very inaffective disposals, I barely noticed Black was playing.
1.Tivendale - Got us to that draw in the Last Quarter, ran and kicked brilliantly.

he kicked it long and direct twice FFS. The rest of the time whenthe ball came to him, it was exactly how it has been for the last 7 years. A ****ed up play.
I mean, we were watching it on Foxtel and in the last minute when all we needed was any score, it came to him and to a man, we all knew that he would **** it up. And he delivered the **** up with interest, that had us rolling on the floor laughing. i.e. we still are a laughing stock.;)
