3. Lloyd
2. Lovett
1. Houli

Showed promise:

Neagle - worked hard and got something like 10+ contested possessions, was very happy with his game
Watson - wasn't too bad in the guts got a few clearances and a goal
Ryder - looked great in the ruck with his massive leap, will be a star

Not so sure:

Dyson - struggling to match it, tries hard but a classs below the rest I think
Stanton - beaten today, not his greatest game but a tough job with Kornes hanging around all day
NLM - got towelled up
Darcy - not an ideal first game, put in a few goods efforts but tough playing on bigger opponents
Slattery - got slaughtered by Burgoyne, starting to think he is just filling in the gaps untill someone better comes along
Jetta - slow return, hopefully bounces back in a couple of weeks

Overall Port were far too good and we were simply outplayed. Onto the next game now...

3. Lloyd - Made the most of the limited opportunities he had.

2. The Final Siren - I thought it really came through for us. Helped keep the margin to just 64 points.

1. Lovett - 2 Crucial goals and a few other goal assists.

After watching Paddy in the ruck tonight, he should play there for the rest of the year and just get one of Johns/Pears to fill his position down back.

Given a bit of time in there throughout this year, I feel he'd easily overtake Hille and assume the #1 ruck spot, he just looks so good in there.

how did monfries play?
can anyone who watched the game tell me?
he got about 25 possies from memory, had a few tackles, and had a few centre clearances (according to Game Day Live).
any good? was he played more on ball?

I was at the game. He was ordinary.

3. Lloyd - Was awesome watching him crash the pack in the third quarter, allowing the ball to spill to Neagle for a goal.

2. Lovett - Looked sharp all day, and his defensive pressure was usually pretty good.

1. McPhee - Works way harder to present than anyone else. Went into the middle for the last 10 mins and had a presence in there, enough to get him reported anyway.

Other mentions:

Jetta - Obviously being treated carefully. Was on the bench for long periods, and will be eased back into it.

Myers - Was struggling with AFL match fitness, had to be interchanged a lot, and was blowing hard. Looked good below his knees!

Was really excited about Neagle today.. so tough at the contest and likes to take them on.

A question though?? I watched him in VFL against Sandy and he was terrible.. no defensive pressure and looked a little lazy.. complete opposite today. Maybe the sort of bloke who thrives at higher level

He was exactly the same at the VFL. You watched on TV?

He ran just as hard against Sandy and put pressure on, but just couldn't get the ball much himself.

Lamros - yes.. I did watch on TV so may have missed the stuff you were referring to... Thanks for that:thumbsu: Certainly not a negative comment on him - was wrapped with his effort

3 Lloyd gave the guy a bath from limited chance. The dill kept pushing and touching Lloyd when the ball wasn't there and every time the ball came was no where to be seen.

2 Lovett showed some dash and tried to create.

1. Houli found plenty of it and attempted to run the ball. Is not running as hard as the first week or two though IMO.

Apologies Ryder - almost a great mark or should I say a great mark that wasn't played. How bad was that umpire Nichols.
