3. Lovett- thought he tried hard and gave us good run. Set up the two goals at the start of the last quarter and did what i have never ever seen from an essendon player- actually laid a shepard after dishing off the handball rather than trying to get another cheap kick
2. Laycock- thought he was pretty good. The best mark in our team IMO- took some great grabs floating back in defence. Also rucked well for most of the game and roved his own taps a couple of times.
1. NLM

I'd give Lovett 3.

He played brilliantly.

McPhee 2.

Umm, and I don't know who to put for one. Laycock played alright. So did Hille.

Hille was just about worst on ground IMO. Didn't think he played well at all. I dont knwo whether I just noticed him stuffing up but I thought McPhee was pretty bad as well. Couldn't even hit a target with a 2 metre handpass.

Laycock was clearly our best player. Dominated the ruck, got a lot of clearances/possesion in close, was probably our best inside player. Then went forward and had a real presence.

NLM was good.

Lovett, Lloyd, Lucas, McPhee were all good, but there were also issues with all their games.

If anyone was tagging they might get nominated as well if they did ok.

nope. I thought he was good. Gave us some run through the midfield and actually looked like he was trying, which you cant say for some others out there.
Trying!!! He continually turned it over and when he did, he stood on the wing feeling sorry for himself while richmond players streamed forward past him. He was embarrassing.

3 - Lovett
2 - Dempsey
1 - Laycock

Special mention to NLM. I feel all gave it everything they had, despite our whole team deservedly walking off the ground with their heads low.

For the 1st time i agree with SOT4!!! What game was that moron watching??? Hille was disgraceful!!! Hille is a dud from hell!!! 3 votes to Lovett, 2 votes to NLM,1 vote to Hird.

My top 3 BOG

3. NLM - Solid all night. One percenters kept adding up, kept trying, ran hard.
2. Lloyd - His contested marking was much better. Had 8 scoring shots, presented well. Accuracy a worry.
1. McPhee - His disposal was at times pretty bad but he tried all night. He couldn't chase his opponent running the other way because he was exausted most of the time. He worked hard to get into space. I still think he should be played at CHF.

Here's my top 3 worst on ground.

3. M. Johnson - Highlight for the night: He won a hitout over Hille.
2. Hille - Highlight for the night: Long goal from just outside 50 from one of his one kicks.
1. Michael - Highlight for the night - Rushing a behind 20 metres into the crowd.

3- Lovett
2- NLM
1- Hird
IMO hille was our worst, terrible at ground level lazy doesnt lay shephards. cannot contest for a mark
also McPhee has a beautiful kick but does not kick to the right places

I'd give Lovett 3.

He played brilliantly.

McPhee 2.

Umm, and I don't know who to put for one. Laycock played alright. So did Hille.

Hille was worst on ground and Laycock either took the ball outta the ruck and gets pinged or got the ball and kicks it majority of the time landed on a Richmond players chest.

1. Lovett; Never stopped running all day was unselfish and is getting back to his best.
2. NLM; Best player in our defence presented, cleared the ball and took to brillant marks in our defence 50.
3. Lloyd; Presented well needs to work on accuracy could of kicked about 8 if it was him 2 years back.

I'd give Lovett 3.

McPhee 2.

3 Lovett
2 NLM
1 Laycock/Dempsey

Agree that Lovett was brilliant, don't think i've seen him work that hard before!
NLM was solid
Laycock did fairly well and is a great contested mark. Really useful when he drops back.
Dempsey was exciting.. i havent seen much of Dempsey and he probably didnt have much of it but seeing a few things he did yesterday made the game a whole lot more interesting and gives a bit of hope for the future. Would love to see him Jetta, Davey, Houli, Lovett & NLM firing at once.

Hille was terrible IMO. He's handy up forward at times but terrible in ruck (regularly jumps way too early) and shocking around the ground. Our ruck looked alright when he wasnt in it. Just too slow and turned the ball over too many times.

McPhee wasn't terrible but nowhere near top 3 for me..
