I don't care what anyone else says about Godfrey, he was trash. Doesn't matter if you get 30 touches when 15 of them are over the head/well short of your teammates.

Quite a few times a chain of handballs/chip kicks going towards half forward ended up in the hands of Godfrey... who then wasted it. Unfortunately the stats will probably see him remain in the team.

disagree with godfrey comments. sure his kicking ability is limited but i thought he played quite well tonight. he has as much courage as anyone and saved us quite a few times by running with the flight of the ball and deflecting it before richmond could take the mark. still not part of our best 22 but not a bad backup when we need him.
my votes are:
5) robbo - was fantastic
4) j mac - you would think teams would have learnt by now!
3) whelan - great game, shut down a very important player for the tigers
2) rivers - thought he was great, was my best on til half time
1) godfrey - a few blunders but made up for it by constantly putting his body on the line

4 - Whelan, great job on Brown - maybe he let him know about a certain incident and spooked him

2 - Wheatley, nullified Pettifers influence and gave some good drive - the right way unlike Ward
1 - Green, solid game and only because i refuse to give Godfrey a vote!!!

My comments on the game:
I see some worrying signs, in that we really failed to put the tiges away...something we have done a bit this year. Are we tireing again? Who knows, but its good to win a game without Bruce, Johnstone and Mclean having an influence. We still should have pumped them though.

Thought Dunn was very good early, but we need a more sustained 4 quarter effort if he's to keep his spot. Ferguson should come in for Holland, Freo don't have a big slow forward for him to play on. Would like to see Smith given a go soon, if he got going, then having another big strong forward could be very handy in the finals. Also Jones should get a go as well.

Godfrey stiff but just couldn't give it to him after he shouted out "not 15" which made White tackle simmonds and give away 50......

Godfrey was our best midfielder and stood up when our stars in TJ and Bruce were down. Definately worth a spot next week meaning that Moloney, Bate, McLean and Read etc will really need to fight to get back in...well Maybe not McLean who is a garuntee.

I've given my votes to defensive players (3 defenders and 1 defensive midfielder in Godfrey) except Robbo ofcourse. Conceding only 7 goals is a fair effort and if we had kicked more accuratly (plz work on that Robbo) it would have been a more clear cut victory on the scoreboard.

Dissapointing, 6 posters, and a crap last quarter, should have won by 10 goals really, its dissapointing but can't complain really, we won.

5 - Robbo - Killed Bowden, 2 great grabs.
4 - Whelan - Killed Brown in one-on-ones and ran off with devastating effect.
3 - Jmac - Consistently good, probably the only person who could hit a target
2 - Godfrey - wtf am i doing. Nah, he was good, his possesions weren't all crap
1 - Holland - Richo got 2 junk goals on him, but was killed by this man throughout the night


Very very average game, Wallace at one stage had 3 loose men in the backline, terrible viewing.
