With the big day upon us, do you actually take your vote seriously?

Years past I've generally been detached from politics, and I've just put a 1 beside the candidate who has the most interesting name.

In fact I'm so detached this year I'm just thinking about going in today, getting my name ticked off and walking out again.

I've already voted- did it on Thursday.

Voting shouldn't be compulsory, it shouldn't be forced upon people who don't give a toss.
Voting isn't compulsory. You can go in and get your name ticked off and walk out. You dont actually have to vote.

Compulsory attendance dilutes the fanatical voters a little bit with more moderate minded people.

If we didn't have to show up only those who really care, which includes the super racists and gay hating people, would show up and decide how the country runs.

They could make voting between 3:30am and 4:00am on a Tuesday night and get an even more refined extremist vote result.

Have never voted & never will, on principle.

Once it's non-compulsory, I might bother about it.

And yes, I'm a conscientious objector of compulsory conscription also.

Cattle calls.

So do you go in, sign your name off and then walk out? Donkey vote? Or just wear the fine every time?

After the Libs pitiful targeting of independents and smaller parties during their election campaign I'm voting for the Bullet Train Party and the Liberal Democrats in the Senate.

**** the major party campaigners and all they stand for.

Being a conscientious objector must be easy since we dont have compulsory conscription.

Will be voting Greens. Hopefully there's a sausage sizzle as I've never seen one in my almost decade of voting.
