Surprised you didn't put Hird in the list... Or Terry Daniher, Simon Madden... McVeigh, Davey and Lucas all didn't play last week! (I was pretty specific on this!)

Ryder - great but he's currently not as important to the team as Fletch. Will probably become so in time, but he isn't right now.
Lloyd - Nup. Not as important as Fletcher. Sorry, but he aint!
Watson - Very important, but also has a fair down side. Can't really compare him to Fletch.
Hille - Just starting to come good! Given we're still getting smashed in the clearances, I wouldn't say he's more important than Fletcher.

Whether you agree with my assessments or not, I think we've moved a long way from saying Fletcher's finished!
All those players are more important than Fletcher. Fletcher has lost a lot of his ability to play as a quality key defender. He currently plays more of a flanker/ looseman type role which is very replaceable.

to be completely honest the way we are playing atm we will be lucky to get within 10 goals. I am expecting a 70+ loss.

Its doesnt sit well at all to be thinking like that but since the bulldogs game we have been smashed and become an un accountable, one way rabble.

I think you guys are missing some very important information in this match up. I hear alot talking about forward matchups and loose men in defense and the like. The one point I think alot are missing is the actual goal scoring in general. Sydney play a very unselfish lock down style of footy.

They have never relied on one or 2 players to kick thier score. The matchups really are for the opposing forward line than Sydneys. To prove that point go back over the last 3 years and see game by game how the goals were scored. Sydney use more people to score than any other team Ive seen or can remember. Thats why there arent alot of 6 or 7 goal tallies for thier forwards. They can produce goals from anywhere on the ground and anyone on the field can kick it. Thats the style you have to be wary of as you may be able to shut one forward down but can you stop say 8 running goal kickers? In my opinion this game will not be high scoring as this is not how the Swans play footy.

They like to stifle the centre and cause alot of stoppages with a third man going up in the ruck to control them. Dont look at how the back or forwards are going to perform cause that isnt going to be where the game is won.I see the word accountability used alot in this thread and thats the exact word that will win this or lose this. If Essedon decides to finally say Ive had it and I want to win instead of get stats then they have a good chance of winning. But without that "accountability" Swans will win but by less than 25 points. They like to arm wrestle not shootout.

Reckon this game has come at a good time. Hopefully it will force us to play accountable 1 on 1 footy , yet another part of the learning curve.

Hopefully with the expected income of 6 players this week (All coming off Injury List), it'll show some improvement in our performance.

McVeigh, Fletcher, Winderlich, Lonergan, Ramanauskas and Reimers have all been clear to play.... It's really amazing how these guys can make a huge impact on our teams performance..... Obviously I'm not confident that all these guys will play this week.

No one thought so last year and we beat them (controversially though :S). But I believe we can beat them this year.
Last year you guys had Hird who was practically locked in as a sure performer. This year there are a lot of young players in your team (as far as I've read) and they'll take some time to settle together.

We need to curb Essendon's speed to really stamp our mark onto the match. Here's hoping for a good, hard match, not a shootout !

What are you talking about. Everitt and Kirk can run down any player that Essendon have on their list :D
