Why no allocation to West Perth?

Perth have had plenty of inconsistent young Freo players over the last few years. Maybe they want to concentrate on developing their own players.

A touch off topic but I think it's ridiculous what the WAFL are putting Sibo through. Perth apparently really want him but can't afford the points in their player cap now that his rating has soared after playing half a senior game when were decimated with injury. The only club that can afford him is Claremont and they don't much want him apparently.
It will be a disgrace if he doesn't play WAFL this year.

Yeah it's not right. Just let the bloody guy play footy.

peel thunder the big winner out of this. If we dont get a long term injury, then they will have the best player in the comp on their list in lee spurr, and tom sheridan being our first pick, but still a skinny kid will add to their midfield fantastically

Its such a ridiculous decision given the nature of his game for Freo.

The additional points loading for a single game alone is stupid.

Totally Incorrect!
Sibosado is in fact a Claremont player who was moved by Fremantle FC to Perth FC on loan while on the Dockers rookie list because he was more guaranteed a League game with the Demons, but as soon as he was no longer on Freo's list he automatically went back to being a Claremont player, which Perth knew about at the time.
Claremont are more than happy to have him back as was stated by their Football Manager.
If Perth really want him all they have to do is accomodate him into their points cap by chopping one of their dud interstate recruits eg Denton.
The points cap is working at evening up the WAFL competition rather than rich clubs like $ubi dominating year after year, but hey lets just change all the rules for an ex-AFL listed dud like Casey ffs!

You are right about the rules Spearhead. and imo he's not worth 12 points so i dont really care if he goes back to the Tigers, unfortunately for Sibo he will be playing ressies if he goes back to Claremont.
12 points should be used for quality recruits, but like you say if Perth want him badly enough they can offload Denton.
I would like to know what other dud recruits you are talking about, surely not Bevan or Ross Young.

I hope Jordan Wilson-King plays well for South Freo league, im not sure if he will be in the best 22 as his fitness at training wasn't the best. I hope i'm proved wrong as he is a hard football player with some terrific skills.

Stupid move by Perth, don't swim against the tide
Rubbish. Nothing to do with swimming against the tide. Perth got 1 pick and chose Dawson. A key position defender is someone we can guarantee a spot to should he need a run in the WAFL. The other WAFL clubs chose players they could accommodate too so surely everyone's happy??

Thanks for the clarification.

In my opinion there is always room to be flexible within the rules of a sensible system. Eg recently Darryl White was banned for life because of accumulated points in a system that obviously didn't take into account players who were going to play the amount of games he has. An appeal was had and he has been reinstated.

Similarly in this case I believe the points ranking system wasn't designed to add points to someone who in the normal course of events would never have played an AFL game.

There is an exception to every rule.

Sibosado played one half match as an AFL player when our side was decimated by injury. Why should that increase his ranking by that amount? As you say he's a dud so why should he be worth as much as a fully fledged AFL quality player?

From what I have read about the situation it seemed Claremont didn't much want him back anyway. Are you saying that is not true?

Surely if Perth wants him and Claremont don't there is room for a sensible discussion to say, well the kid wouldn't have played an AFL game normally so it's not really fair to rank him as an AFL player?

If Claremont do in fact want him back then good for them I suppose.

E Shed, I have read a couple of articles that have Claremont saying that they would take him, but that Casey wanted to play for Perth.

http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sp...game-for-dockers-threatens-sibosado-s-career/

Thewest.com.au said:
Claremont general manager Todd Shimmon said his club had contacted Sibosado and told him he was welcome there if no other club would have him.

"He may get more opportunity at other clubs," Shimmon said, though he believed Sibosado could add depth to his club's defence.

"If no one can fit him in we are not going to shut the door on him."

Personally I don't see the problem. Perth could get him like the article says, they just don't think he's worth it.
