Brownlow Medallist
It's do or die this weekend for Swans and the Royals, at Bassendean Oval, as they fight for the right to play the Tigers in the Grand Final.
Swans are coming off a relatively pathetic performance, whilst the Royals are generating quite a head of steam. You can't help but admire the way Micale has the Royals playing, with physicality and hard running, both ingredients required to beat the Tigers. But when will the hard run of having to win every week for the past 7 weeks finally catch up with the Royals? Of course I'm hoping it will be this weekend, but.....
I expect this to be a brutal match, fuelled by the Travers and Wolfenden incident of the last time they met. Both teams have good forwards and defenses, midfields are probably fairly even, the ruck is where the Royals might hold an advantage. The older heads of the Royals have held them in good stead all season, like Wulff, Hancock, Swan. McKinley up forward has been a huge asset and Beeck and Clarke in the ruck has been a formidable duo.
Selection for the black and whites tomorrow night will be interesting because there are a few high profile players that don't deserve their spot in the team whilst the younger kids have been playing the better football.
I do know it will be an exciting time at Bassendean Oval on Saturday arvo, so everyone get down and scream for your team!
