It is with a heavy heart and depressed mind that I write this week's matchups. We have been pillaged by the AFL clubs, given Hinkley (whoopee) and lose Pearce and Davis. Ah well, I guess we know how clubs like East Freo feel now.... If I were a betting man (and I'm not) I would take the $2.70 that EP are paying!

Again, critical matches for finals aspirations of all teams. If a team isn't fighting for a position just in the 4, they're jostling for position within the top 3.

Claremont v Perth - Expect this to go down to the wire, or not, as Perth have a poor records against the Monts. The tiges should regain the full services of Swift, and he will be up against Young, K-T, Cook, Moody, Ferguson, Smith, Jones and co. But Crabb, Franz, Richardson, C Jones, Stevenson, Matson, Thomson and Ruck should be a great match up. Both teams are on 20 points, so only 2 games out of the 4, so there is plenty to play for. If Claremont is it's usual mud playground after rains who would this advantage the most? I suspect the tiges, but I'm not convinced.

Sharks v Subi - oh hell, this could get messy and very quickly . Subi could gain a fair percentage advantage on Souths and kill off the Sharks season. After the past 4 weeks performances I can't see how the Sharks, especially if they lose Houlihan and have lost McNamara, could cope with Keevers, Read, Chick, Fletcher, Broadhurst, Newick, Rix, Cossom, Hildebrandt etc. Can David Swallow take Subi on, on his own? That's why they are paying $1.13 to about $3.50 (I think), which is extraordinarily generous . Sorry Sharks fans, no matter what angle I look at this from I can't make a case for you! Then again, I'm hoping that by saying this I put the mozz on the Lions. :D:thumbsu:

East Perth v Swans at the Ferals home ground. The Royals retain McKinley and swans may regain Hinkley, which is really like putting an extra player on the Royals side, so so far it's 30-0, in tennis parlance! Swans will need to get their running game going early and not rest on their laurels like I reckon they did a bit last week. Spaanderman v his old team, always promises some sparks. Can the lesser lights of Swans, like Wolfendens, Notte, McKinlay, Pullman?, Martin?, Embley v3, etc lift their games and get Swans over the line? It will be difficult against McKinley, Merrington, Noakes x2, Wulff, Hancock, Swan and the young guns of Duncan, Hutchings, Stratton etc. This should be a cracking match, with everything on the line for both teams and a massive amount to gain. Just leaning towards the Royals on their home patch.

West Perth v Peel - Corrigin, country WA about 2.5 hours east of Perth (for those city slickers that didn't know!). With Seaby and Campbell out, I think this is a very dangerous game for the Falcons. Peel have lost their mojo from the beginning of the season and now find themselves in bottom spot, with 20 points and still only 2.5 games behind WP. Can Muddy reignite the spark that was there earlier in the year? If ever there was a chance, this is it. Morabito, Luff, Wilson, Schofield, Ware, Haines, Bloxsidge, Robins should be a good match up for Salecic, Tsalikis, James, van Berlo, Crossland (hometown boy), Darling?. Loads of young talent on display in the bush and should be a cracking match. Strangely enough, I'm just leaning towards the Thunder!! (or is that more hope on my part, evil Falcons.:thumbsdown:).

Anyway, hope everyone stays warm and enjoys their footy weekend. And remember, it's healthy to vent your spleen across the fence, so do it!:thumbsu:

Looking forward to seeing how Darling goes. And of course to seeing the Cardies put on a show for our country zone :thumbsu:
