OH boy, what a massive weekend for the WAFL, probably the biggest weekend of the season. It's the last chance saloon for some and jockeying for positions for others. The top 4 play each other and then those outside the 4 play and the bottom teams play. So let's jump into it:

Sharks v Tigers - well another Tiger goes up to the AFL, giving the Sharks a chance to get one more win for the season. Most interest in this game probably revolves around Lucas, Sheppard, Swallow against Colyer, Winmar, etc. The star studded colts were beaten soundly by Swans last week but will they put more up to league because the Sharks are second from bottom. Supposed to be a miserable day on Saturday and where more miserable to play than EF Oval on a wet and windy day, so the skills won't be great. Both teams are coming off big losses to a top 4 side so this should be an even and scrappy contest. Sharks just, for mine.

Demons v Royals - BIG game, last chance saloon for the Royals. If they win and WP lose they will be 2 points behind, setting up one of the biggest grudge derbies seen in many a year for next Friday night. Perth gave a great account of themselves against Subi last week and learnt that you can't give the reigning premier a break for any part of the 4 quarters, otherwise they will skip away. EPs last game was a fantastic win over the Swans and if they keep up that form, led by Cowell, Noakes (x2), Hutchings, Hutchins, Clarke, Shepheard, Duncan and Wulff they will be hard to beat. However, Perth's group led by Ferguson, Armstrong, Cook, Thornton, K-T, Moody, Vidot should give a good account of themselves, but they will have to be strong at the ball against a switched on Royals.

Bulldogs v Falcons - HUGE game if the doggies want to make sure of top spot and if the Falcons want to climb deeper into the top 4. Against Peel Souths running game was too much and Peel didn't get the chance to exploit the Dogs 'weakened' forward line. WP have a decent defense and should actually be able to shut down the doggies forwards of Phillips, Farmer, Mgumbwa (unfortunately played his good game for the month last week). However, I see the Falcons forwards of LeCras, Campbell, Longmuir, Tsalikis, and Keunen as being very dangerous against a well disciplined, run at all costs defence. Should be good match ups there, Bossong v Campbell, Hunt v LeCras, White v Tsalikis/Longmuir?. Apart from the Falcons dismal record at the Port city, this should be a ripping match and I think Souths run will just get them over the line.

Lions v Swans - MASSIVE game because Swans can take second spot and then pull away the following week when Subi have the bye, or Subi can cement second spot. Also a big day planned at Leederville so if you're a Subi supporter get on down to the "Blake Broadhurst Family Fun Day". Yes, you heard right, there'll be petting zoos, bouncy castles, face painting and kids galore - yippee, I lose my space for the day! If you bring your kid in their Subi jumper you get in free, supposedly.
Anyway, back to the game. Hopefully Swans return to form last week was planned by the professor, to a time line to be right for the finals, and the previous few weeks were just a dip. They got their run and work ethic back last week. Hunter and Hansen down forward, with Geappen, Notte and Colreavy floating around should stretch Subi's fragile (IMO) defence, except it will be wet. The last 3 should be able to make hay while the sun shines, althugh half expect Notte to be used in a defesive position for some of the game, given Broadhurst, Maplestone, Hyphen and Smith are a very dangerous forward line. Rix has been rucking well in the middle but it depends on the mud runners of Cockie, Cossom, Keevers, Hildebrandt, Chick, Fletcher and Stenglein or Davis, Wolfenden, Jetta, Twomey, Simpson, Potente, Roberts and Lange. Robinson will be a huge out, as will Davis, if he travels with the Eagles. James Embley should come in and the wet, tough conditions should see him go head to head against Cockie, IMHO, 2 hard nuts what more could anyone want to watch. I am undecided on this game but it should be a tight contest with less than 2 goals separating them.

Rug up, keep warm at the footy, come pet some animals and have some fun at the footy. Hope it goes well for all this week.:thumbsu::)

Footygoss has these outs for Swans...

OUT: B.Robinson (inj) Hinkley (inj) Casserly (inj) Colreavy (inj)

It's fair to say I'm pessimistic...

Oh, and Davis is out, travelling emergency, evidently!

Ah well, it's fair to say I'm with you, but if Subi have an inexperienced side, like against Souths, should still be a good match.

They are some big outs.

Great win by Subi :thumbsu: Only saw the last qtr but some Impressive running. How much mass has Hunter Lost  Does not even look like him. Few Eagles boys out on the park today, Stenglien and Fletcher looked to be in good touch, Bad to see Cockie go off with a bad arm injury. Go Subi.

Only saw the last but he was his usual hard working goal kicking machine self that he is :thumbsu: Would of loved to see him at the Eagles, pitty they didn't persevere. Didn't see hardly boo of ash hansen and Hunter looked to be having a game to forget. Fletcher was everywhere and stenglien did some good work. Be hard to crack a spot at the Eagles at the moment though I would expect Maybe Fletcher to get a call up for a send off game? His form is good but I spose that is the problem with Fletch nowadays, Wafl Superstar but plays a dud when back in the Afl.
