ROUND 5

20th April 7.40pm South Fremantle v East Perth Fremantle Oval

21st April 5.40pm Peel Thunder v Claremont Rushton Park

21st April 2.15pm East Fremantle v West Perth East Fremantle Oval

21st April 2.15pm Subiaco v Perth Medibank Stadium

BYE Swan Districts

Hard to believe Round 5 is here already, **** that's gone quick.

Souths V East Perth is the match of the round IMO. Souths will be rejuvenated to an extent after finally getting a win on the board while East Perth are in top-notch form and will be looking to stay in touch with the top of the table. Souths will probably lose Graham who is a possible replacement for Mark Seaby. East Perth haven't beaten Souths for a few years. I think it will be a close game but East Perth will just be that bit too good.

Peel V Claremont should be a close one. Even though Peel are winless they matched it with East Perth last week for much of the game, they kicked a big score too. Claremont are 1-2 and can rebuild their season with a win after a shaky start to the season. The home ground advantage is always a big factor for Peel. I'm tipping Peel to win in an upset.

West Perth V East Fremantle is another important game, especially for the Cardies. If West's lose this then their season is almost gone IMO. It's very tough to make it back from being 1-4. East Fremantle are in top form and will be confident of extending their winning streak to 4. Unfortunately I don't think the Falcons can win this, East Freo are very strong across the entire ground.

Subi V Perth will be a blowout. Perth have recruited well but have looked ordinary in the first 3 games. Subiaco look unstoppable thise season and I can see this being a nasty result for the Demons.

Looking forward to seeing how the Sharks fare against West Perth.

Won 3, but with Perth and Peel widely tipped to be bottom 2, and South having such a dreadful start before working their way into it last weekend.. it will be good to see the Sharks against higher rated opposition and get a gauge for where we're at.

Be nice to think we are genuinely in the race for 2nd.

AFL selections as always are going to be a huge factor, and in the next few weeks more so than ever.

Both the Eagles and Dockers are missing several players, and as they come back, guys are going to be squeezed out.

Fletcher coming back means either Subicao get him (bad for the rest of the comp) or Priddis gets dropped (equally bad)....or Hurn or Rosa make way which opens things up a little.

Likewise with East Freo, Murphy's lack of form creates an opportunity for Dunn, Sharks loss....Doggies win. With Brown potentially in and out of the Eagles side the Sharks KPP stocks could go from good to bad in a week at the AFL selection table.

Over coming weeks around 6 - 7 players are going to be fed into the WAFL as others come back from injury / suspension...could turn things upside down a little.

Do Subiaco ever suffer? :o

You reckon there's any chance you'd see J'Lo in a red and blue jumper?

Seems to me with him it'll either be playing for the Dockers, or rested. From some talk on the Dockers board you could have to play a couple of games without Warnock at some point as there are some calls to give him a go.

Yeah I reckon there is a chance. He could be dropped actually, he's been in terrible form.

Playing my least favourite team in the Royals this week, carn Souths need to get the season back on track! :thumbsu:

Well this conversation turned out to be a little close to the mark...teams for Rd4 AFL released....Warnock in, Longmuir out.

Lecras and Campbell added to their respective sides aswell.

I've got a bad feeling we will be beaten by 10 goals plus.

Quarter time: South Fremantle 7.2 (44) East Perth 2.3 (15)

South have got the jump over the Royals in the first quarter. Long way to go but Souths AFL listed players are prominent. Sampi, Duffield, Collard and Murphy playing well, Graham quiet so far.

Doing a sight dance of delight so I don't wake the missus at that result.
The dogs are back.

Oops, I'd had a few when I wrote that. Sight should have read silent.

Subi won by 45 points.

Huge win for the Falcons today. I was at the game. Richard Kelly played extremely well.

East Freo will be a top side this year, I felt quite flattered to beat them. But they are just a really strong side all over the ground.

Claremont (League) 2.2 4.7 7.10 12.14 (86)
