Well, at least I feel better about myself after trying to cheat and pinch the WAFL Round 6 Preview from the WAFL web page. They haven't done it either.:D I have however, taken these previews from the Football Budget, who have done a great job with their write ups.

Anyway, on to Round 6.

Thunder v Bulldogs
Bendigo Bank Stadium

South Fremantle faces a crucial point of the season in Mandurah against an increasingly confident Peel side.
Coming so close but not far enough in the first three games of the year the Thunder finally won their first game of the season on the back of impressive contributions from Pat Travers and Matt Orzel.
The Bulldogs have not won since their 50-point comeback over Perth and were outplayed by Claremont but were competitive the whole game led by Kris Miller and Ryan Cook.
With their veteran experience and composure in critical minutes along with their determination, the Bulldogs can continue to remain dangerous provided they don’t kick themselves out of the game.
The Thunder have many of these traits too and will do well to try find that same composure particularly defensively, relying more on their attack to win quarters. The Bulldogs will put up a strong back line as usual, though they will have a tough task ahead of them trying to keep pace with the younger Peel forwards.
Reece Adams could line up for his 50th league game while Ash Thornton could play his 100th league game, split between Peel and Perth.

CLAREMONT V SWAN DISTRICTS
Claremont Oval

Swan Districts will look to show it is up to Claremont’s standard despite faltering last week. After carrying a lead into the final quarter against Peel, Swans were unable to avoid their first loss of the year. Inaccuracies cost them down the stretch, along with an unanswered five-goal stretch in the fourth. Swans cannot afford to let the Tigers gain momentum like that without responding, as the Tigers have a host of players ready to step up when their opposition is lagging.
With seven multiple goalscorers, including Ryan Neates with three, Claremont continued to show the versatility that has it considered the premiership favourites, limiting South Fremantle to just six goals after the first quarter to record its biggest win of the season.
Swans may be one of the only teams with enough firepower to combat Claremont’s multipronged attack. Though the Tigers have four of the league’s leading goal kickers the Swans have young options of their own. The key however is their accuracy, with Michael Walters, Murray Newman, Dayle Garlett among players capable of significant scoring outputs but have more behinds on their record than goals.
Claremont’s Trinity Handley is set to play his 150th game, including four Foxtel Cup matches.

PERTH V SUBIACO
Brownes Stadium

Subiaco takes its undefeated season to Perth, with the Demons’ record not reflecting their competitiveness this year.
The Demons continue to show they have the makings of a finals side however if their inability to finish off games cannot be reined in they could remain on the outside of the top four.
The Lions won’t often let a team get back in when it pulls in front, so the Demons will need to take advantage of their scoring opportunities.
The Lions toughed out the win over East Fremantle, with a style of play that has become dangerously
familiar and effective. Forward Callum Sinclair is continually proving to be the man to beat for the Lions, and he will be a tough cover for the Demons defensively. Blake Broadhurst was kept scoreless last week and will be another target up front that the Demons should be well equipped to combat.
For Perth Leon Davis is shaping up well across half back, while Nick Lower, Sam Butler and Ben Noakes
continue to provide different attacking options through the middle. The Demons, with three debutants and
eight players with less than 10 senior games experience last week, are getting closer but will need to
find that right combination of players to move forward this season.

EAST FREM V EAST PERTH
East Fremantle Oval

Two competitively strong teams in East Fremantle and East Perth face each other in what should be a gritty if not entertaining encounter. The Royals and Sharks sit one game apart on the ladder but in their three games this season have shown a firm resolve and determination.
The Royals picked up their first win of the season on Good Friday thanks to a six-goal haul from Josh Smith and strong defensive efforts from Kyle Anderson and Nick Kommer. Paul Johnson continues to stand out in the ruck and up forward, anchoring what has become an imposing front line.
In their narrow loss to Subiaco the Sharks were well served on the defensive end. Andrew Stephen held Blake Broadhurst scoreless while Luke Weller kept Brant Chambers out of the game, with the pair no doubt to be among those to take on the Royals’ strong forward line.
The Sharks have shown they are formidable even without their large number of AFL listed players, though their midfield is strengthened by the likes of Koby Stevens and Mitch Brown. Mark McGough continues to shine and will need to be contained to limit the Sharks through the middle.
Stephen looks set to play his 50th WAFL game for East Fremantle.
