Round 16 was played in some atrocious conditions which contributed to a couple of upsets on the day, Fremantle Oval resembled a mudpit at times on the TV while Peel Thunder kicked only one goal for the entire day, spending the last three quarters of the game against West Perth goalless. Two was a pretty common score for the round from a tipping perspective but Freezin outdid everyone, tipping three and getting the bonus point to finish with four points for the round.

There hasn't been much change on the leaderboard with gaskin still on top with 43 points on the board. Barney44, Freofalcon and getgaff remain tied for second two points behind the lead while Freezin has joined FiveStrings, Kram81, Monocle and Spanna_ in a tie for fifth place another point behind.

Round 17 Fixtures

East Perth vs West Perth at Medibank Stadium (1:40pm, margin)
East Fremantle vs Peel Thunder at ATOM Stadium (2:15pm)
Bye: Claremont, Perth, South Fremantle, Subiaco, Swan Districts

Next up is Round 17 and there's only two games this week as the WAFL squeezes in another rest for five of the competition's nine clubs. Despite most clubs having a week off we are left with two pretty good encounters on Saturday with East Fremantle hosting Peel Thunder at ATOM Stadium while the traditional Perth derby takes centre stage as East Perth battle West Perth down at Medibank Stadium which is the TV game this week. That match leads into Channel 7's AFL coverage later in the evening.

As you'd expect, the reserves and Colts' game are earlier for the East Perth vs West Perth matches, starting at 8:25am and 10:55am respectively.

On the weather front things aren't looking great at the moment with similar conditions predicted for this Saturday to what was saw last weekend with showers, a possible storm and windy conditions expected. The bureau has even predicted we could get another 20 mm of rain which will certainly makes things interesting. Hopefully it's not too bad and we'll see some decent footy on Saturday in both games. Happy tipping!!
