No one has mentioned Jarrad Waite's punch to the face of a Richmond player.... surely he will be suspended for that?

He wasn't even aiming for that guy... his head was covered and I'm not actually sure what he was swinging at...

Was pure luck that it connected...

So, do you get reported for striking someone, when you were actually trying to strike someone else?

Commentators didn't seem to think there was a huge amount in it.

Carrazzo could be in more trouble, for the attempted elbow strike to Riewoldt's face. He's very, very lucky that it didn't connect. So is Riewoldt for that matter... he probably would have had a broken jaw!

Yeah I agree, but he still made contact.

Its the same as if he was running and wasnt looking and ran straight into an umpire.

Of course he didnt mean it but he was careless in his actions

I hope nothing comes of it but I doubt it.

The way the tribunal works, he will probably go, or at least get cited.

Intentional or not, he made contact with his fist to the face of another player. Considering that the tribunal charges based on the results of an action rather than the intent (eg. Carrazzo's attempted elbow won't even be cited, despite the potential to do much greater harm) and he's punched a guy in the face, they will charge that.

I guess it comes down to how serious an incident they see it as.

You are correct, and we need him the most this week against players like Brennan, Fev, Brown. I'd hate to see him go but it was reckless.

If anyone hears anything, keep us posted.

Someone (cant remember who) got off a striking charge in the pre season because he did not and could not see who he struck, Waite had his head down in a wrestle/head lock with another opponent and swung his arm with a clenched fist to free himself and did not know the other tiger was there. No intention, low impact, and being already engaged by the other tiger in a wrestle to me says he wont get cited, or if he does he takes the early plea and its less than 100 points. Would be astounded if Waite does not play next week.

Glad to hear about the precedent, but I remember thinking exactly this about the Judd incident last year :)

I gues Carrots can't argue height on that one. :D

seemed he was flinging his arm around a richmond player's neck to put him and his fist was closed and he accidently struck a bystanding player. On the other hand Vin had plenty of mongeral in him and I recon Jarrad's got plenty of it too. If he ment it he did it well. Perhaps a fine for wresteling but not sure you can get fined for striking if it was accidental contact.

Waite was in a head lock and could not even see that there was a bloke behind who he made contact with Not reportable so I expect a 2 week ban (Caro will call for 6)

No idea if this will get spotted but saw Carrots semi kick a Richmond player on the members wing (was more like shin to the back of the leg) was off the ball so hopefully nothing happens. Looked pretty innocuous and not much in it but today you never know with the tribunal, thought I'd put it out there.

Assuming he does get charged accidental or not he still had a closed fist and hit someone in the head, does he have any carry over points from a previous charge?

I dont think there was anything at all in the incident last night, but who the hell knows with the tribunal.

He has 73 carryover points according to FanFooty.

Hoping he will miss the game against the loins are we ? crawl back into your hole .
:thumbsd:
Didn't realise it would offend someone asking a simple question about the last time a player was suspended...worried about next week already bluesman?
