Lock away one job.

So the following four people are probably in contention for three jobs:

Eade
Craig
O'Donnell
Harvey

Assuming Craig is only wanted by Adelaide, this means three in contention for three jobs.

Sucked in Wallace, you've made a bad decision and Richmond's list stinks worse than the compost heap. Greed will get you your just desserts.

Good call Grundy. I hope you are right.

5 years at the Tigers for Terry? Too long IMO.

The last bloke who signed up for a 5 year deal was Tim Watson wasn't it? After he got the sack, wasn't it considered to be potentially bad for business to sign coaches up for 5 years? Maybe Richmond didn't get that memo...the length of the term does'nt seem right to me.

I have a feeling that things will pan out this way

Wallace to Tigers (Was never in doubt and today it was confirmed)
Eade to Adelaide (God I hope so)
Ayres to Hawthorn (Always had the feeling he would end up at Hawks and best of luck to him :))
Royal to Western Bulldogs

If Eade gets the nod, what will happen to Craig?
Good question. _espoir raised this question in the other thread and its a very valid one.

Personally I would like to keep Craig as part of teh panel but not neccessarily as a midfield coach. His percieved strength is his preparation and analysis of opposition sides. An area that is percieved to be Eade's "weakness". I would also like Criag to have a major input in designing a pre-season program and excercises for players to improve their pace and agility. However, will Craig want to stay under a coach that beat him to the coaching job?????? Will Eade want him there knowing full well that he is some kind of "threat"??????

Very interesting times ahead.

On previous history, I think it would be best if Craig left. Taylor and Hart didnt last too long after Shaw and Ayres started. Rodney would be better off having his own team in place from Day One.

Yes we can ilaford to lose Craigs Skills, but no-one is indespensable!

Given Eades strategic and tactical skills i have no doubt his analysis of opposition sides is not an issue.
Preparation and player development/liason - yes needs some strong assistants.

BTW my idea of 2 head coaches was discussed extensively today on radio Sen.
Strong consensus that it will happen and soon, and will become the future coaching model.
1 coach for matchday, 1 for player preparation

Has that been as strong an issue with Eade as apparently it has with Wallace?

And it will fail miserably;)

When egos get in the way things usually end up going downhill and FAST

Since Eade knows about this new innovative role at Collingwood (and seems to like the idea), Maybe he will do the same and bring someone in to do it at the Crows. How funny would that be? :D

We still need to remember that Eade hasn't got the job yet and Craig is the still the favourite

I thought Eade's weakness was his man-management skills with the players. i.e. he went off the deep end with them all the time. I thought that was why he ultimately lost the playing group in Sydney.

Not supporting Craig at all but if I was on the Crows find-a-coach sub-committee I would still be deeply concerned about this. I see this as a big problem.
