If Paul Roos has a brain beneath that lustrous contemporary mullet he will donate $100k a year out of his kings ransom to employ a tackling coach. Our tackling is disgraceful. Being able to stick a tackle should be a prerequisite before a player will be considered for selection. It's humiliating watching our players being brushed off week in week out. How I would love to see one of our players bury an opponent in a tackle and then rub his face in the grass...

We know how to lay a tackle, it's the manic 'team pressure' that we fall short on.

Good opposition will always find a gap to play through us.
Must be the worst at 1%ers in the league. Never sheperd, rarely spoiler, lead even less than that.

Yep.

It stacked up ok against some of the weaker opposition in the first few weeks, but it has been found wanting over the last 3.

Really showed yesterday, Hawks were laying shepherds left, right, and centre.

Can we get a kick it to your mate coach on the shopping list?

The one TMac has apparently been coached by during the offseason

Tackling doesn't work if you lay 15, win the ball back and then hand it some ******** to kick it straight back to the opposition
I find the contagious handballing to flat-footed guys a far bigger concern than our disposal at the mo. The Captain and The Prince are the two biggest offenders right now.

Jones is bad but in his case it's mostly because they don't get on the move for him they still watch and wait quite often in case of a turnover so they still have their mann

Yet Hawthorn, who had the ball more than us, still managed to lay more tackles than us. We need an effort coach, not a tackle coach.
A funny little stat is that the team that wins more of the ball usually wins the tackle count as well, mostly because both are so strongly correlated with work rate. Most of the time one team is doing more of both.
