Continued from thread 4:

While we've been watching China and Taiwan looking for the next war, it is looking increasingly likely that Vladimir Putin's Russia will invade Ukraine. Will that happen and what would that mean for Ukrainians, the world and Australia?

I think Russia will invade, Biden will wag his finger and say tsk tsk. Then the EU and US impose sanctions and Putin installs a puppet government in Ukraine. That's just me eyeballing the situation without analysing it or being a geopolitics expert.

I just can't see America going to war over an Eastern European country that is not a traditional ally like Australia or France. If they do go to war, all us men of military age would be liable for conscription. There may be nuclear war in the extreme (and extremely unlikely) scenario, and in that case you can kiss your arse goodbye.

When has Putin ever de-escalated a conflict?
Of course, because the West has kept letting him win with a weak hand. Putin is well aware that a united West would crush Russia, economically and militarily with ease. He's enough of a student of history (real not his imagined version), to know that a militarily weaker side, can outlast a superior military one, if they can either outlast them politically or scare them into not acting.

From the start of this war, the biggest impediment to a Ukrainian victory has been a weak West. Every time they 'pledge more' there's always some caveat. I mean Germany still hasn't given Taurus missiles, the 'Coalition of the willing' to have boots on the ground, came and went. Even a 'Skyshield', something putting minimal risk to Western forces, given the disparity in Technology, was chickened out on.

It's no wonder the (un)official policy of Russia is 'escalate to de-escalate'.

"I'm going to make a new deadline of about ... 10 or 12 days from today," Trump told reporters during a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. "There's no reason in waiting... We just don't see any progress being made."

Medvedev wrote: "Each new ultimatum is a threat and a step towards war. Not between Russia and Ukraine, but with (Trump's) own country."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy praised Trump's "particularly significant" statement as timely in trying to move forward to a peace settlement.

Well at least the deadline can pass with another 'NEXT time I'll mean it!' backdown from Donny, rather than having to wait the full 50 days for it. Why on earth would Putin call a ceasefire, when the odds are 95% nothing happens and he can continue on against 5% action that actually hurts Russia? When you're that far in, who wouldn't take those odds? Putin's not doing anything to stop until AFTER the US acts, not before, no matter what they threaten.

He can't admit he's been made a fool of either, and Putin knows Trump won't admit he failed.
Putin most likely has a copy of the Epstein files and TACO is scared of it being released hence why he is Putins servant.

Russia making sure their occupied region cities are modern day wastelands.

People are leaving the jewel city of Donetsk in droves.

Russian have apparently closed off border crossings as a result to force them back.

Flights being cancelled everywhere, FSB threatening criminal investigations into Aeroflops managers for negligence.

All apparently done by Belarusian hackers too. That will please Putin no end.

The funny part is that donny's base wanted all the Epstein files released until they released that donny is in quite a lot of them 🤣

Could you imagine Putin allowing such protests in Russia and then responding to them rather than silencing them with mass arrests and beatings. Ukraine an actual democracy, unlike Russia. I see the bot farms went ballistic on it though. Putin getting desperate.

There was widespread protests over the 2022 mobilisation, and many arrests tbf

The Kremlin did change policy over it though, went to a volunteer cash based incentives, limited protests since.
Ukraine still stealing men off the street

This is your big chance to condemn russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine so do it or do you agree with illegal invasions?
