Or, they will continue the worldwide drift to centre right. People everywhere are pri-tty sick of progressive politics.

Trump is by no measure 'centre right'.

The right is drifting further right. The left (not the online kind, the actual major political parties kind) are drafting further right.

There's no major economically left-wing party that I can thing of. It's all pretty stock standard moderate right-wing economics with a smattering of some socially left stuff.

Voting for economically right-wing stuff is basically at-odds with what would actually help middle-to-low income earners.

I think taking the amount of time and effort needed to understand the income tax system you're paying taxes under is pretty important for each and every taxpayer.

Is that elitist?

Is being progressive and elitist the same thing?

Is Trump (a bloke who grew up insanely rich, inherited hundreds of millions of dollars, and has lived his entire life in the richest percentile of the planet) not elitist? Is Elon Musk, the richest man on the planet, not elitist?

It's truly bizarre the things that are considered elitist. Uni lecturers = Elitist. Billionaires = Not Elitist.

Some billionaires are elites, like Soros

But Musk and Donnie are men of the people.

So, you said 'many'. I assume you'll split that hair even though 'many' is the unsupportable exaggeration I was referring to. Because literally no-one in the private sector is effectively working 3 days of 5 to fund their tax liabilities (total of income + indirect taxes).

3/5 = 60%. Surely the only point you were making, or why would you say it?

I was the one who explained to you that tax includes income tax and non-income tax, so yeah.

I know you're feeling foolish and need to save face, but it's getting pathetic. Every post is a demonstration of why Trump is able to lie to people and benefit from that.

Insults aside, this is all demonstrably false.

You actually didn't explain to me that tax includes income tax and other tax because I already listed those other taxes in a post before you opened your sanctimonious pie hole.

Secondly, even buying a new car-which 1 million people do every year, even you'd agree 1 million is "many"- can push people to 60% tax. Then many people get bashed with stamp duty, that they pay interest on, for the life of the mortgage. Then the council rates. These big ticket items are a normal part of life for the majority of Australians and the tax man is there with them every step of the way. Hell they even tax the insurance that people pay on them.

My experience is that when people defend the outrageous rates of tax its usually because 1. they don't pay them 2. they live off them either directly as welfare or being employed by the public service. Which one are you?

There actually is no left anymore. The left has been banished - they don't exist anywhere. Half the greens policies are authoritarian.

i still think you being a bit holier than thou in your assessment of those that voted for Trump

but anyways

is what it is.
The 20ish % of Trump voters who believe stuff like kids are going to school boys and coming home girls?

Well yeah, I'd sure hope I'm better than those people lol. Weapons grade morons surely you'd agree.

He won't do anything and you know it.

Trump didn't build a wall.
Trump didn't impose a muslim ban.
Trump didn't deliver a health policy.
Trump won't deport anyone.

Trump is all talk. You know you have been conned.

He did actually do a Muslim ban.

I’m guessing he will deport some people in a high profile way, so nothing much on the border but his fans will “feel” better cos Donnie is in the White House.

You want him to deport the legal immigrants?

Not voting at all means a vote for Trump. How does that make things better in Gaza? If anything it makes it worse.

For a whole year, people said “change course or we won’t vote for you”. Biden and then Harris said “**** you, we’ll win without you”. So Arab Americans, young people and the left didn’t turn out in the same numbers as last time and she lost. Of course, some will never question the wisdom of the politicians, because they can not fail, they can only be failed.

They have four years to sort their shit out. So far it seems the lesson from many is to not run a woman for President. That isn’t the takeaway!!

Yep. Everything he's set out to do will blow up in his face and he'll have some paranoid reasoning about why it couldn't be done and his supporters will buy it hook line and sinker. Another term of getting fk all done and everyone loving it.

I almost certainly pay substantially more tax than you do my friend. So perhaps put that dick back in your pants instead of trying to swing it around.

What taxpayer funded amenities are you using today?

Trump’s mandate is smaller than Biden’s mandate.

Hunter, Joe. Take your pick.
It’s not the size that matters, it’s the way you use it.

Its the attitude that is elitist.

Here's a common example of progressive ignorance. Progressives commonly complain the rich don't pay tax. Well lets say "the rich" are the top 1% of income earners. Do you agree they don't pay tax? Do you know how much tax they pay?

Do more people think that 2020 was possibly stolen now? And trump won 3 elections in a row.

given Democracy was on the line surely more people voted in 2024 election than 2020?

for example 90,000+ Amish voted 2024 vs 32,000 in 2020

It’s more likely 2024 was stolen.

But Democrats won’t throw a hissy fit like Trump did.

They possibly do. I don't. Is that the question?

No, it appears they didn't.

I don't know that the Amish are the standard measure for voting numbers across the US.
We're watching history being rewritten in real time here and the January 6 riot justified.
